Really love this. First 2 records are gold. This is obviously going to take a little bit longer to dig in to.

Yeah, this album was too much for me to process on first listen. I'll have to listen to it a lot more to appreciate it

  6. I'm listening to this album for the first time, also my first Fleet Foxes album. It's absolutely beautiful. Love the harmonies, soft acoustic picking, the open, lovely atmosphere. Can't wait to buy it on vinyl already!

Listened to it earlier. Loved it.

I would pay to see Robin, JV, and Mac Demarco just sit in a room and talk about random shit. Their speaking voices are so soothing.

I think I'd be much more receptive to this record if it'd come out in the fall or winter. Fleet Foxes in general have always been more of a cold weather band for me, but this album in particular has a weight and complexity to it that I just haven't really found myself in the mood to sit down and try to unpack.

It sounds nice, and conceptually I like that they've gone for something this ambitious. But that's about all I can say about it at present.

Helplessness Blues is the quintessential summer road trip album for me.

I look forward to listening to this new one in the winter as well @Blaine Ryan, it definitely has a comfy sit in front of a fire feel to it.

I really like it, but yeah, I think I'll spend a lot more time with it in fall/winter. They always release their records in the spring and I always spin them the most when it gets cold outside.

fleet foxes are super fitting for warm summer nights imo. fall and winter obv but i tend to bust out HB during summer once the sun goes down.

It's not like saying this will sway your opinion either way. But just keep listening to it. It's the best example of a grower I can think of, at least in 2017.

    Still just doesn't touch HB though. That record is p e r f e c t.

Oh, I will for sure. I was actually anticipating this becoming my favorite record of theirs, just because I tend to really gravitate toward stuff like this, especially from bands I already like. The "weird" or experimental album(s) is usually my jam. But I just haven't been in the right headspace to absorb it yet.

their first 2 records are perfect. Haven't been able to give Crack Up the obvious time that it deserves yet, but I imagine one day I'll think the same.

Just gave this a first listen, and it's definitely one of the most gripping albums I've heard all year. Looking forward to coming back for more, as I can tell there's a ton here that will reward more and more listens.
