All three of the shows I've seen have been packed. I think they used the bassist or guitar player from No Devotion for a few shows, that's all I've heard of. To me, Geoff has been tempering expectations, but that's about it. He spoke about how the band saved his life last night and how they'll always come together and be Thursday because the music is what binds them. In short, I'd be extremely surprised if there isn't some announcement for Thursday in the next couple of months. I think the band is probably taking a moment right now to figure out what's next.

If you look for videos from the Spring tour, Stuart (bassist) filled in for Tim on about half the shows. Have these recent shows been full strength Thursday (including Andrew)?

 

Tim played Wed night.

I'm pretty sure this where they got the name from, Geoff also filled in on vocals (orginal guy died 15 years ago) for their reunion last year.

I saw the tweets as they were coming out and felt so happy that I got to see someone like that live. And just as someone to look up to in general.

 

I will never forgive myself for missing the Lancaster show, but I was way too tired from traveling to go :/

been listening to war all the time recently, feel like that was the first album where they sounded really confident. i'm not sure what about it is giving me that vibe, but there's something in the way it all comes together that sounds less like the smart and sincere kids who are trying their best and more like a band who knows they're really fucking good. obvi this doesn't mean anything

I honestly think it's a better record than FC. the fact that it's rushed is pretty obvious but it adds something to it that makes it even more special. Each song is of pretty similar quality, which cannot be said about FC haha

 

i personally wouldn't know it was rushed just by listening. if i had to pinpoint anything in particular that might give it away, it might be how verbose the lyrics are. still, that would only come to me if i compared it to their later work where geoff is focused on being concise. what do you hear that illustrates that it was rushed? (also i think they got better with each subsequent album, for the most part)
