Lol I think I have a new favorite Skiba solo song

 

Holy. Shit.

 

Lol...once I saw all the talk about bridges this was the first thing I thought of. I was a member of the Blood Pact and they did a recording journal for Agony & Irony, and everyone loved this when it was posted.

I remember all the speculation over what song they wrote a bridge for that prompted this. I think a lot of people thought it was "Over and Out", but I think it ended up being Live Young, Die Fast...which is coincidentally MY least favorite Alkaline Trio song ever.

 

I love that Skiba song!!

 

Do you guys think there will be a song about tom? If so, it has to be an all mark song.

 

Mark did once before so idk if he'll do one again. I say let sleeping dogs lie but who knows. I wonder how it's actually affected Mark, I mean I'm sure they used to be best friends. They've known each other since high school and grew up together so on some level he lost a friend not a business associate

 

I think he lost a friend in 2005, in 2015 he lost a business associate. I do not think that they really got a long well after the reunion.

 

All those claims that they were "back to normal" and "it's like we were never apart" that they were throwing around were bullshit IMO. The tension was plain to see whenever they did anything as a duo/trio.

They grew into different people, simple as that, and it felt extremely forced.

 

No ya I agree. That's partly why I don't think he'll write a song about it

 

I still feel Mark taking the piss out of Everything's Magic on stage at a blink gig is a big hint into how petty he has probably been about all this.

 

I didn't hear of this. I thought he's handled it fine, more or less. blink drama really isn't that memorable though so maybe I forget what he's said.

 

I remember seeing this and couldn't help immediately wondering if it was about Tom. Don't know if that's been debunked in any way since I've seen it.

 

I get that it's fairly fresh writing material, but I really hope there are only a couple songs tops about Tom. I'd like to see Mark really flex his writing muscles (gross turn of phrase) and hope that Matt helped him do that

 

I remember feeling so awkward when watching that clip. Didn't feel like his normal joking Tom bashing. One of the only times I ever disliked Mark.

 

would have loved to see them symbolize a rebuilding of the bridges by reimagining a +44 and AVA song with both of them contributing. would have been pretty cool to hear.

Haha..ah..kind of awkward, but also feels like it could have been genuine banter.

 

that's how I feel. maybe a little low to go after AVA, but they seem to be having a good time

That was Mark's best banter ever. He said what everyone always thought about Tom and AvA at that point.

 

Def could've been genuine but it felt like it was some bitterness coming from mark about Ava. Like, why go there when there's so much else you can make fun of? Sounds like a low blow.

Might just be me, just didn't feel like old times at all.

 

I personally loved it because of that.

 

Yes! I mean, it's a cool song and all, but even Coldplay wasn't capable of naming a song "Everything's Magic". It was all just a bit silly, with the arms moving around and everything Tom pulled off during early Angels & Airwaves times.

 

I was at that show. It was in Milwaukee, very early on the reunion tour. I thought it was hilarious.
