Thanks for all the suggestions! Every summer, my friends and I go out into the mountains, cook tinfoil dinners, and after it gets dark we watch a scary movie on my laptop. We are doing it again this weekend so I need some new movies that we haven't seen yet. Thanks again for the recommendations, and please keep em coming!

Dated a girl for years that couldn't do horror movies at all, think I got her to watch 1 during our relationship and that was Cabin In The Woods which hardly counts.

Getting caught up on what I missed over the past 5 years now. What's the general consensus on The Conjuring? What are some key films that I've missed.

Possession movies always make me lol. I still enjoy them but there's always that corny element. Like when they levitate or as a kid the crab walk in the Exorcist always made me lol. And I guess I always find the demon voices more silly than scary.

Im watching the Conjuring 2 again and I'm in a mixed state between clutching my pearls cause I'm all alone and also being amused at the cheesier parts.

 

I'm just finishing Conjuing 1 right now and I'm about the same. Like when they're doing the exorcism in the basement and everything stops, then the chair just levitated for a while, then turns upside down... I legitimately chuckled

Not a movie but man, the current season of Twin Peaks honestly is some of the creepiest shit I've ever seen.

Doooo itttttt. There's a two week break until the next episode so it's a good time to catch up. Episode 8 is unlike anything I have ever seen before on television.

I think it warrants a viewing, it's such a visceral and bizarre film that needs to be seen to understand what the fuck it is.

 

Has anyone seen this one? It's awesome.

Society (1989)

Okay... I'm in!

 

This and Anguish are two of the best 80s horror movies I've seen in a long time. I really hope this streak continues!

 

Society is a crazy classic, Reanimator too

 

Yes! Love that movie, I showed it to some friends and they were just hooked into it. Probably one of the more underrated 80's horror classics.

 

I don't often get upset that movies exist but I am upset that Alien 3 does.

 

From what I've seen/heard, it's not the best quality print since the colors and details are a bit muted. Synapse Films is putting out a BD release later this year and it looks much better from what I've seen of it. Still an awesome find regardless though, don't see that every day.

 

The original concept of the artificial planet was so much more interesting, damn studio heads and their meddling.
