So Tep's playing bass and Ed's playing guitar? whaaaaat...that's too cool.

I'm 99% sure that is Riley with a guitar back there, not Ed haha.

Oh nice I didn't even notice that! I was looking at that picture from yesterday where Ed had a guitar.

I think they've always done that, where nobody is confined to one instrument when it comes to contributing parts

I hope Teppei can lay down a few vocals on this new album.

Interesting to see them writing on the road, don't really remember them ever writing on the road at all. I also have to say that it's really cool/awesome to see all of them at the same spot with the band and touring/recording etc. They've all said that the break was good even though it was hard, but it really seems they are really enjoying themselves again and happy at doing what they do best from what they say and seeing posts from instagram

They ruled last night, like always. Riley's stick slipped and he missed a beat in Of Dust and Nations (which you could tell he was genuinely disappointed about) but laughed it off and played a kick ass set like a true profesh.

After multiple attempts to get into these guys, I think they've finally clicked with me thanks to their live stuff. Which albums are considered their best ones? I've listened to them each a few times and Beggars is the one I find myself coming back to.

I'd agree Beggars is their best but besides that one I think most see Vheissu and/or their most recent album as their best.

Beggars is my absolute GOAT, right up there with TDAGARIM.

I love their entire discography for different reasons. Only album that doesn't hold up well is their first album, and it's the only one I don't regularly return to.

Vheissu is my favorite, followed (closely) by Beggars. Alchemy sort of deconstructs their sound into 4 different parts, so it's worth listening to for that reason alone, and the new one is really good too (standout track for me is "The Window" because it sounds most like something from Vheissu). Illusion and Artist are also good (I've had "The Melting Point of Wax" stuck in my head all morning for some reason) but definitely more of a throwback sound to the early-00's.

But I would say listen to their live albums, decide what songs really stand out to you from those, and then go revisit those albums.

Was going to say this actually. Their songs typically sound better live too, so you can't go wrong with either live album Live at the House of Blues or Anthology.

Every one will give you different answers, but I suggest giving as much of their discography as you're willing to, a listen. They are such a varied band that you could listen to a dozen songs and get a dozen different ideas of what they're all about.

I've been listening to their discography pretty heavy over the last few weeks. Definitely enjoy their more recent material more than their early records (they're just heavier than I like to listen to, still some good songs though). Vheissu and Beggars are both fantastic. Live stuff is top notch. Not sure why it took so long for their music to click with me.

Fall tour better not interfere with my seeing Brand New one last time. I'd genuinely struggle to choose between the two. Really want to see Thrice this year.

Someone in the Thrice FB group said the fall tour will be announced on the 25th. Idk if that's the truth but I also don't know why anyone would lie about it either
