Very interested to read the rest of Matt's quote. Is he saying that like "Even though we're done, we're still family" or "Of course we're still a band, they're family" I need this issue in my hands now haha

Matt: "Alkaline Trio is still my family"
Mark: "I last texted Tom last year"
Travis: "I'm an addict in every way"

    Haven't read the article yet

Mark on Tom, "he's doing his thing, we're doing our thing in blink, and it's going well. I think the time for hard feelings has gone."

Moments later... When asked if Tom could return, "I dunno. That's a hard conversation... I dunno"

Hahaha my favorite part is where When asked to rank the blink albums, Mark did not even bring up Neighborhoods at all when he ranked them.

    Hilarious!!!

Though he is quoted as saying he still loves it, but that recording separately sapped some immediacy that is so important for blink.

  8. Hi guys I'm back, I see we started a new thread ! Also, regarding that article, the only worthy thing is what Matt has to say. Other than that it's the same shit.

  9. "Alkaline Trio has been my family for 20 years, so it's not that they've been replaced. It is on hold, but we're making some plans right now. I don't want to say anything just yet, I do one thing at a time."

  13. He seems really sincere and really does wanna some new Trio music. Apparently Dan and Matt have been writing as well.

Also, is it expected that Alkaline Trio is going to be much bigger because the "singer of Blink 182" is in the band

  16. Seeing us all vote on our favorite song from each album like this has been fun and has got me thinking. Which one song would you say is the definitive track from each album? Not your favorite song necessarily, but just the one song that defines the whole album.

    My opinion-
    Buddha/Cheshire Cat: Carousel
    Dude Ranch - Dammit
Enema of the State - All The Small Things
Take Off Your Pants and Jacket - The Rock Show
    Untitled - I Miss You
    Neighborhoods - Up All Night
    California - Bored To Death

    Do you agree?

  17. i think they'd get a decent amount of new fans checking them out based on that reason, but i can't see them becoming a bigger band in general because of it.

Yeah count me in on saying I doubt that Alkaline Trio is going to be much bigger because Matt is in blink now. While I'm sure it might help them a little bit I just don't see them getting that much bigger. I mean just look at Tom, Mark or Travis' side projects whether it be AVA, BCR, +44 etc. those never really got big/took off and people are more familiar with the names Tom Delonge, Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker than they are with Matt Skiba.

I'm sure Alk3 has seen a considerable rise in $ from streaming/purchases since Matt joined Blink. So many people in this thread alone hadn't given Alkaline a proper listen until Matt joined Blink.

Whatever Alkaline Trio does next will definitely do better. Not only because Matt joined Blink but because they have been away for so long. They're not going to make any considerable jumps in venue size or anything but I'd be willing to bet all the shows do better than their last US tour and when they put an album out it will do better than the last 2-3 albums

I actually agree with him/her. I liked Alkaline quite a bit before hand but Matt joining Blink and his work on Californi is what made me go back and really listen to them more
