I visit Daisy, Deja, TDAG, and FOYD pretty frequently. At least once every two weeks or so. I p much never listen to YFW though.

i'm writing a book, leave me alone.

For me it depends on the season / weather. Like, bright sunny days: YFW, some Deja. Summer / nice weather nights: Deja, winter: Daisy, fall: TDAG, Deja. Things like that.

If I could just forget it

Mostly just listen to Deja a couple times a year. Luca and Untitled 5 get thrown on a lot too.

Honestly have no idea what I listen to the most at this point. I'd guess TDAG

I don't listen to Brand New as frequently as I used to. And that doesn't mean they mean any less to me... I think there are just things that I'm expiriencing now that other bands have become the soundtrack for in my life. Brand New will always hold a really special place for me, as I've listened to them since I was a kid. But, as time passes I guess their music becomes less of a "crutch" for me if that makes sense. Like, I'm finally at a place in my life where I can listen to Brand New and just be completely blown away by the writing, both lyrically and musically. It's no longer something I feel like I need to listen to because of the need of finding "musical empathy of emotions", if that makes any sense.

I dno, it's hard to explain. Hopefully that kind of made sense.

Super late response but was worth it

Brand New are one of those bands that gets so hyped for how good they are, that you forget just how good they really are. I kinda put em on the backburner and was like "yeah they're releasing new music cool they're pretty good" and didn't buy the hype, and dived back in to their last 2 albums recently and remembered how unbelievably good their music is.

Daisy really clicked with me in 2013 and ever since, it has been my favourite BN release.

Yeah Daisy is easily my second favorite album now behind TDAG. Crazy because Deja used to hold that spot but not anymore.

I still listen to their S/T and The Next Four Years all the time. I listen to both probably once a week at least.

Dude you get it man. Brand new is and always will be my favorite band. I don't listen to them near as much as other stuff now, but they still mean more to me than any other band out there. You said it better than me though haha.

    Maybe so, maybe not.

Live at The Downtown is top 5 in their entire bootleg catalog. Probably top 3...I could even argue it for #1.

    God I miss The Downtown.

I'm right there with you both. Even though I also don't maybe listen to them as much anymore either really deep down when it comes to discovering new music and just music in general there is so much of it that still has to do with Brand New. It's funny cause it's also hard for me to explain but basicly they are an omnipresent force in my life and still very much my favorite band after all these years and that says a lot considering how much music I listen to daily.

While I understand some fans fondness for that recording, I much prefer the Live in Jackson recording with him and Kevin. That tour, and that recording in particular, ended up meaning so much more to me than I realized at the time. It's what ended up selling me on Kevin, despite having seen him open for Brand New earlier that year. Jesse grew so much as a performer during those three years between the two recordings. I'd argue that every rendition of the songs found on both bootlegs are better on the Jackson recording than The Downtown, and the setlist is better. The only song I go back to from The Downtown is his cover of Accident Prone.

    Reunion tour

Jude Law from The Downtown is pretty great

  19. I listen to Daisy the most, it's the ideal album to listen to on the train home!

its really weird how things like that shift in life. Like when i was younger i always thought that Brand New would always be the soundtrack to my every waking moment, but that just isnt the case now, and thats totally okay for me.

Anyone else ever come across the generally accepted lyrics of "Be Gone"?

With it getting hard to stay up,
I think I can hear God calling my name
You'll probably make my heart break
But I was told you're coming to know
    Coming home
And you stole the car but
I'm scared that I would keep it for my own
And all the rain covering the summer
    Coming home
    They're coming home
    You're coming home
    Yeah, you're coming home
    Coming home

I dont know how i have gone 7 years without seeing this on the internet, i feel like an idiot actually... Do you guys think these are correct? i just listened to the song while reading them and it seemed like it could be pretty close.

i was honestly thinking this exact thing the other day. I come back to TDAG every so often and im still blown away by how much it can affect me still.

So.. Let's write an awesome bluesy riff, let's write some great lyrics and then completely bury the vocals with this effect so no one will ever hear them haha... I always wonder what that conversation was like in the studio .. I like the song but I have known people who simply can't listen to it.

I really enjoy the song too. The twangy guitars and distorted vocals reeled me into that song. It was something completely out of left field for Brand New.

    I hate spoilers. Supporter

I just kind of accept the vocals as another instrument/sound effect on the album and gave up trying to figure out the lyrics years ago. Ha
