I prefer the refs to have access to technology to make the correct call. It doesn't ruin the "flow of the game" any more than a team surrounding the ref to argue everything or plays rolling around after minimal contact.

I want football to be enjoyable and not ruined by flaws of missed calls, the game and world has changed since I started watching 25+ years ago. It's time to start taking advantage of this technology for the better of the sport.

Honestly though, my love for the sport has died a lot. I'm watching less football these days so the introduction of VAR won't really affect me. Didn't even know the Confed Cup was on.

United fans on Reddit going mental about being linked to Matic for £40 million. Think he'd be absolutely solid for us, tentatively very happy to be honest.

Why the hell would Chelsea give him up? Perfect partner for Kante.

They're buying Bakayoko. Jury is out on how that will go.

He'd be my third choice between him, Fabinho and Dier but any one of them would improve us so I wouldn't be disappointed.

Matic would definitely confirm we're going 433. If we were planning to go 4231, I think we'd move for a DM to play right of Pogba. I have concerns over his age and how his reliance on his frame and build will limit his game faster than others. Having Pogba and Herrera in front of him is probably the best he could ask for though.

Based purely on the fact he would instantly improve us, I'm all for it. He's only just hitting 29, not ancient by any means. I do think Dier would be better, but not way Levy let's him go for a decent price.

Yeah he might be slow, but he reads the game well. And it means Pogba and Herrera can play in their best positions, and do the running for him. All we need is a big bastard to crunch tackles in and win the ball back. I have confidence the other 5 in front of him can do the rest.

Santos have reported Barcelona for their pursuit of Lucas Lima. They say it's not the first time Barcelona have done it.

The first time was Neymar, whose dad also represents Lima--who also dated Neymar's sister. Hahahaha

First Instagram related nonsense. Morata's new wife just followed United on Instagram.

Let it be known that Gus Johnson, whom Fox invested serious time and money into with the full confidence that he we would become the voice of American soccer for their World Cup Coverage, is currently calling a tape-delayed, heavily edited 3 on 3 basketball broadcast consisting of retired fringe NBA players.

This man was calling a Champions League Final like 3 years ago. And he decided soccer wasn't for him. Sucks for him.

I hate penalties, but winning them against England feels so good :-)

I honestly don't know why we even compete in shoot outs.

I'll have you know we won one penalty shoot out in 1996. Basically yesterday.

think it stems from them assuming if they get matic then they won't sign fabinho, when in reality they could easily sign both (even though i know Fab has been linked to PSG too over the past few days)

pretty solid fee for someone his age, could go out and buy better/younger.

There are people with children who have never seen England win a penalty shoot out.

I am one of those children. Argentina vs England in 1998 is my first England memory.

I remember lying watching it (I was 5 at the time) in bed whilst my sister was babysitting downstairs and when Beckham got sent off I asked for a hug. Only in England do we get brought so much closer through misery.

I remember San Marino scoring after 7 seconds against England. But Euro 96 is my first real memory of them.

I remember England winning that shootout at Euro 96 I think!!! Against Spain? I was around 8 years old. I definitely remember Gazza's goal at that tournament though - my fav goal of all time!

sounds like arsenal are close to completing a deal for Lemar. would be an excellent signing, though I do wonder if it indicates a switch back to 4 at the back.
