watched RAW. loved RAW. want to watch it again.

Finally started Ash vs. Evil Dead last night, halfway through the first season and enjoying it so far.

Beyond the Gates was disappointing. Fun premise and fun visuals but it could have been so much more if it were a little longer and cared more about its plot.

Lastly, Don't Breathe is so good. I don't think that movie pretends too be anything it isn't. It successfully tries new things and walks this line between suspenseful slowburner and exploitation film. I love the way that moment feels juxtaposed against everything that came before it. I've never seen anything quite like it and it certainly shows Alvarez's range compared to the Evil Dead remake, which is probably the bloodiest movie I've ever seen (which I also love).

 

Arguably one of the best horror remakes for sure. The score is also fantastic.

Open Water leaves me feeling so empty every time.

 

I'm not sure how I feel about The Bad Batch..

Yea, I checked it out last night. I was sort of left yearning for more carnage. I knew it wasn't going to be a splatter flick, but I didn't expect it to be so lacking in the horror department.

 

I was actually planning on checking this out tonight as well. Caught a couple of clips when they were posted on bloody disgusting..looked amazing.

 

Yeah, it's not very good. The first story is decent, but the other 3 are pretty bad. Overall I'd say it's still worth a watch since you like anthologies. Hopefully you'll enjoy it more than I did!

 

Damn, yeah, I love anthologies, even the bad ones haha. I've read mostly good things so I'm optimistic.

 

One positive I'll say about it is that the first story is really unique, I was still thinking about it a few days after watching the movie.

did not really like xx at all, and i was bummed cause i really wanted to. i liked annie's a little bit, and the last one was probably my favorite, but overall i was disappointed

 

Still have to see it because of Karyn Kusama. And St Vincent.

That first segment was so laughably bad that we couldn't take the rest seriously, birthday party looked like it had potential so will start it from there next time

 

Birthday Party was a pretty good dark comedy short, but also I love Melanie Lynskey from But I'm a Cheerleader days

 

i havent seen her in anything but togetherness but it made me want to rewatch it
