Also I'm really glad that Hawley basically confirmed outright that he's only taking a break until he has an idea he wants to pursue for S4, not ending it for good. Hopefully focusing on Legion for a while lets him stop thinking about Fargo for long enough that he can get this part of his brain refreshed and ready for some new inspiration.

  2. I stand pretty firmly at 2 > 1 > 3 right now but they're all fantastic and I'll reiterate that 3 had the best finale and 1 had my least favorite.

Could not agree more about the finale; this was the best of the three and I don't think it's particularly close either. I had the biggest grin on my face after that last shot, so perfect. S2's was really good though.

  4. Yeah, 2 was great because it tied things up and also managed to make some really neat connections to s1. My issue with 1 was that it ended too.... perfectly? I dunno, it was a little too "happily ever after" for my taste. This season's finale really mastered the marriage of resolution and mystery, and also fired on all cylinders in terms of what the show is good at when it comes to suspense, enigmatic dialogue, and utter brutality.

Plus it just tied into the season's themes so damn well. When the camera slowly zoomed in on the clock I was like "omg they're really going to do, they're really going to end it there!" and then they did and all was right in the world (the real world, not the show's world haha...or was it?!). That was so brilliant.

I'm a little over halfway through the second season and I just wanted to say that I love the coats everyone wears. Like everyone has a cool coat in the show. It's awesome.

I noticed that the cop at the end of the third season, who has the duel with Nikki, wears the same uniform as Patrick Wilson in the second season.

Also, I was thinking this while it happened but forgot to bring it up. But why didn't Nikki just confront Emmit at his house instead of on the main road where all kinds of things could go wrong? Moreover, I thought she sabotaged his vehicle - so then how was he able to just simply turn it on and drive away from the whole situation?

I wondered that as well. The only way the road makes sense to me is if she was following him and since he got out there, she did too. But that doesn't explain the car breaking down and then working

My biggest problem with the finale is how did it take Mr. Wrench five years to find Emmit? Didn't seem like he was hiding or anything

I took it to be that he decided after five years that he couldn't let Emmit get away with it. Like he felt guilty for taking the money and not finishing the mission. So he went back to finish it for Nikki.

Either that or he knew that if he killed him right after everything happened, then he would have been suspect #1. This way she thought VM did it. But then again he was a wanted fugitive, so who knows.

Maybe he figured 5 years would be enough time for Emmitt to leave his guard down and assumed he was in the clear of being a target

  15. Forgot about the car thing! Yeah, when Emmit started the car back and left I was totally like uhhhh wat

Well we have no proof that she messed with his car right? She could have just been following him

He pulled over when the car started making some noises like it was breaking down. She didn't pull up until he was smashing his phone in the street since he couldn't call for help. So having it just work again was weird. No clue if she was the one who messed with it so he would pull over though.

It's either she had some way to make his car break down and she chose the middle of nowhere to kill him, or she was following him and his car just happened to break down there...and then start up again. Both of these scenarios are equally unbelievable.

It didn't ruin the episode for me, but I would be interested to hear Hawleys explanation for it

Varga may have people in the IRS, but Widow Goldfarb definitely isn't a bad guess.

I just finished season two. I'm so floored by this show. I can't believe how good it is. Why aren't more shows this good? Why aren't movies this good?

In season one, I was so drawn in by Malvo, that I didn't realize he was the villain until the last couple of episodes.

Then season two was even better! Mythical heroes and villains, hollywood-level action-violence, and a huge chunk of the show exploring Camus' philosophy.

I need to watch season three.
