Royals is a good song but it's far and away my least favorite on Pure Heroine.

 

I, uh, may have to splurge and pick up that signed lithograph

God dammit Lorde owns me right now because I didn't even hesitate about the lithograph or about floor seats and as soon as I see vinyl there will also be no hesitation.

 

As long as the shipping was under 20 I was all in. It was 5.82. SOLD

 

The only thing that gives me pause is that she may do the same again, but for vinyl. Gonna think on it.

 

Yeah I think I'm gonna hold out for the vinyl.

 

I was gonna do the lithograph but it's not big enough to frame so I know realistically it will just gather dust

 

I already ordered the vinyl, but if a better version comes out I'll just gift the standard edition.

 

Listening through again, it's amazing how creative Lorde is with certain phrases. Like in "Loveless," how she switches "L.O.V.E.L.E.S.S. generation" to the very different line "a f**kin with our lovers' heads generation" while keeping the exact same melody and syllable count. Random, but it's one of the many subtle things I keep picking up with each listen.

 

This album has really caught me by surprise.
I thought the first was an interesting pop release and especially impressive for someone so young.

This one however, feels like an artist who has something to say. And I can't stop listening.
Still early, but might be my favorite pop release in a long time.

 

Writing about this album at the moment. I've been in such a slump, but Melodrama keeps grabbing me and I finally want to write again. It's such a sad record but it's empowering for me - she's picking herself back up and inspiring me to pick myself back up, too. This album will remain special to me for a long time.

 

Slowly gravitating to Hard Feelings/Loveless as my favorite track that wasn't released before. I think Perfect Places still tops all though.

 

The only song I listened to prevent release was Green Light. Perfect Places is my fave

 

I *think* Supercut may be my favorite song, but Perfect Places, The Louvre, Liability, and Sober are all up there as well.

 

Really hard to pick a favorite on this, but right now I think the title is being torn between Hard Feelings and Supercut.

 

I love that the keys in the back of Supercut sound like the same propulsive keyboard line/keys from Green Light.
