    I
I think the EP's are better than the debut and "fallingforyou" is still my second favourite song after "Sex" but this still feels like a huge step up from them to me in all the ways I mentioned above.

  5. I completely lost interest in this a week after I bought it. And I still can't get behind "Love Me."

I can't imagine cutting "Nana". It and the two tracks around it ("Paris" and "She Lays Down") are the closing trio and end the album perfectly. Middle is the best section, but those 3 songs is my favorite 3 song stretch.

Would never cut anything from this. Hell I'm bummed How To Draw didn't make it on the album.

I wouldn't cut anything but I will say that She's American is the only song here that I might skip. Kinda bored with it

the earth is not a cold dead place.

Love Me is the only song on the album that I sometimes skip. Not because it's bad (it's merely ok), but I'm just so eager for UGH! which is one of my favorite songs of 2016.

  10. I miss the 300+-page monstrosity that was the previous thread on AP.net.

But this is right up there as one of my favourite albums of 2016 so far, and their Dublin gig last month was the best show I'd been to in ages. I'm so proud of what they've achieved this year, and in general.

This one is up there for me, so far. I'm super excited for Chance the Rapper, Young the Giant, and Butch Walker's albums though...

I'm waiting for young the giant. It's definitely the best thing out this year so far though.

I highly doubt anything that comes out this year will top it for me.

  14. The bridge in She's American is definitely a highlight for me.

Also, it's silly to say they should've cut songs from the album. Would rather have too much music from my favourite band than not enough.

I'm thinking maybe Busted or The Hotelier. I wouldn't be surprised if nothing beat it though.

I did. Everything sounded perfect, as expected, and Matty's clearly evolved from a young kid getting comfortable in the limelight to a super confident performer that owns the crowd. I'd seen it in videos, to an extent, but it was still striking in person.

The show kind of flipped my expectations for which songs would work best live. "Somebody Else" and "She's American" (two of my favorites from ILIWYS) felt a little flat, energy-wise, while "If I Believe You" was massive. "The Sound" was an absolute blast and I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes an end-of-set staple. The highlight of the new songs for me was "Loving Someone." And I'm surprised whenever I see people say they hate "Chocolate" or that the band's going through the motions when they play it live. It sounded outstanding (Matty's vocals especially) and had an infectious energy that nothing else matched, in my opinion.

I'm curious to see what the legacy of the new songs is with the fan base. It takes time to develop the relationships people have with songs like "Sex," "Robbers," "Chocolate," etc., but many of the new songs seem to have a very different impact live. "A Change of Heart," "Paris," and even "UGH!" sound nice but don't really go anywhere musically, so I felt like the audience energy waned during those moments, whereas the old relatively softer songs like "Menswear" and "Me" had more of a build to them. The breakout at the end of "Menswear" is such a fun moment live.

Thrice and Hotelier are my main contenders to knock this down, if anything.

The Hotelier and (possibly) Brand New are the only things that stand a chance for me and I don't really think they stand that much of a chance.

    i said dont @ me

yeah the only records that had a chance for me are already out (tim hecker and kanye) and they're sitting at my 2 and 3, respectively. nothing is gonna bump my top 3 out of their spots.

  23. that's definitely the best video they've released this album cycle. love all the little easter eggs and call backs.

edit: Matty's performance in this is so good. I'm stunned.

That was great, such a good fit for the song. My favorite video of theirs in a while.

Also, that is Matty, right? I was going back and forth while watching.
