I dont disagree with you overall, but, again this is what I want to see play out. Because the original Ellsworth story line had some of the same absurdity (making AJ look foolish...risking making a WWE title feud look weak, etc), and yet it paid off in every way possible. But just having Ellsworth beat AJ in a ladder match, taken as a single moment, looks incredibly dumb.

And this is actually the point I see most people making that doesnt hold up for me. Every time WWE has gone for the "moment", rather than the best story, its been garbage. Charlotte cutting a babyface promo the day after WM32 with the new belt...the #TripleMainEvent...Micks promos ahead of HIAC where he suddenly remembered the match was dangerous...when they push the Revolution angle, and the "first time ever", it comes out terrible. When they let it be about traditional wrestling stories, it works well.

Besides, they put together a damn good promo for that womens match...and the reason it was so good and different, because they didnt have any ladder footage to rely on to make it look like every other promo.

 

Id actually like to see a Becky/Carmella feud over the briefcase. Cause Becky had it dead to rights, and Carmella never actually grabbed it.

Feel like I havent seen the briefcase be up for grabs in a while...Dean cashed in instantly and Sheamus never defended it. Makes it fun as a mini-belt

 

There is a Paramore/Dusty Rhodes mashup in the new Botchamania. If there is one thing that would go over in this thread, it is that.

Steph/Vince as No Mercy, then 2 months later is the Jerich/Christian match. Which is about the time I stopped watching, and now maybe I know why

I can't remember why, but I came across clips from the Jericho and Christian vs Lita and Trish tag match and it was pretty uncomfortable to watch...

 

I was just scrolling through it when you mentioned it...its Christian's dickishness, and then they take Lita's shirt off, which just feels wrong.

The Santino intergender stuff I watched just looked funny because they were playing it silly

 

santino winning the battle royal though.... now THAT got me pissed as fuck

 

I watched No Mercy 2003 a few months ago and the Vince/Steph match was very uncomfortable to watch. Amazing the lengths he was willing to go to back then and this was AFTER he defeated WCW.

 

I got the audiobook of Death of WCW by Alvarez yesterday just for something to listen to while I drive. Very good so far, also i'm realizing I am just a huge Alvarez fan boy these days.
