Id be totally down for an all Dan and Derek Alkaline Trio album.

Wouldn't be the same without Matt, but hey....I'll still take it haha.

 

It wouldn't be Alkaine Trio without Matt and Dan. Not the same at all. No Matt No Alkaline. Their chemistry makes the band. Hard to say what I feel about this because both Blink-182 and Alkaline rate high on my list of bands. T_T

 

I could see Brendan Kelly filling in honestly

Hard to say no to that Blink money.

 

I misread this as Brendan Urie and almost laughed

 

I would think Dan and Derek would just do another band with some other friends rather than call it Alkaline Trio. I don't think Brendan Kelly would do it unless it was to fill in for a show or string of shows that Matt had to drop off of like ETID. Brendan doesn't come across as the type to try and write an Alkaline Trio record. I could see Dan and Derek join Brendan to do his Wandering Birds record and shows.

 

In all honesty I hope not. It just wouldn't be the same.

 

The weird thing is the band technically isn't broken up. So who knows. Dan could always make the Emergency Room full time and bring Derek on drums.

 

Trio fans have really been overreacting to that interview. Mark said awhile ago that they were going to start recording the next blink album by the end of the year, making it extremely unlikely that Trio would record this year. That was all that interview confirmed. It didn't say Trio was over.

Also people seemed to get really offended by "cult punk band" .....that's not an insult and exactly how I would describe them?

And as far as Trio without Matt? I fully felt Tom was replaceable in blink. Certainly don't feel that way about Matt with Trio. And I'm a bit disturbed at how many "Matt owes us" comments I've seen in the last day.

 

Disappointing, but certainly not very surprising.

 

Dan brings in Matt Stamps on guitar and forms new band Wednesday.

I got in trouble today, because you know because I can't disagree with people ha.

 

I knew it but it's still devastating to finally hear it. It's the part where he says "only blink" that's weird. I was expecting Trio to at least do a few shows here and there and maybe he just worded it too literally but that's the part that sucks most. I know he doesn't owe anyone anything and if he's truly happier in blink right now, so be it. But this is the only favorite band I've got left so this sucks big time.

 

Lol but hey,Brendan Urie is master with voice game...he could definitely try imitation of Matt's sing haha

 

Can't really blame the guy - seems like he is having a blast with Blink. A Trio album will come when the time is right.

 

That's basically The Falcon then - which would be pretty cool to get another album from them. Loved the one song that Dan sang on their last release.

 

That's pretty much what said at Blinks forum...I mean he's having blast with Blink and he's at good place now = no good for Trio mood.i love that guy so much but honestly he's amazing artist specially when he's totally fucked up

 

I definitely don't blame Matt at all. He would be dumb not to see Blink through and jump on board.

 

I definitely don't blame him. It's obviously what's best for him. Yeah, I'm bummed that it means no Trio for the foreseeable future, but if he's happy that's what really matters

 

I'm just really going to miss traveling and going to shows and yes, talking to Matt. Lol.

 

It kind of sucks. I am late to Alkaline Trio, I had heard of them but only started listening to them two years ago. Never got see them live. I was hoping we would at least get some shows, but like someone above said he didn't say definitive that they're done.
