Yeah haha. I never put any value into most things artists say about their own music ("Sounds like *old album* mixed with *old album by another band*! Our best work ever!" Yeah ok sure...) but this was still pretty weird.

I didn't even know what "Southern Gothic" was but google tells me that it's about "the history of slavery, the grotesque and the tension between realistic and supernatural elements." So... you know. The California album in a nutshell pretty much!

This was a close match between two very good songs, two of my favorites. I am glad this did not end in a tie that I had to break because it would have been a hard call. For a period there it was tied, but in the end one song pulled ahead. The final score is:

So with just a two point different, the championship winner is Feeling This. It will now move on to join San Diego in the Champions Bracket. I think the top 4 of each album should move to the champion bracket because for instance I would choose Stockholm Syndrome easily over San Diego and whatever wins TOYPAJ

 

Something I may consider, depending on Bracket size and byes. Closer to the end of the games I'll figure that out

Fuck. This. Will. Be. Hard. This is my favorite blink record. Welp, here goes.

Reckless Abandon - came down to which had the better bridge.

First Date - I dig the palm muted guitar sounds in this more but won’t be mad if stay together wins

Time To Break Up - the bonus tracks are the strongest songs on the record IMO

Online Songs - classic blink. Won’t be mad if give me one good reason wins though. It was a stand out favorite on my first listen.
