Damn it might have been my favourite song of the year at the time then!
I also had to toss up between Handwritten and OTIP for which I liked better...
These days OTIP wins bubs landslide bit Handwritten is still great.

For some reason I've listened to Get Hurt a LOT and struggle to remember it. Until I visited the thread I'd forgotten 1000 Hours. And I knew I liked Dark Places but I had to read some lyrics quoted on here for the chorus to come back to me.

Also: Ain't that a Shame is not one of TGA's worst songs.

 

Ain't That a Shame barely constitutes as a Gaslight song.

I love "Ain't That A Shame" but I definitely wouldn't call it the most Gaslight Gaslight song ever. I also don't see how it barely constitutes a Gaslight song though either, as it fits pretty well with the darker more aggressive sound that makes up pretty much all of Get Hurt.

I would say Most Gaslight Gaslight song would have to go to something more romantic and nostalgic, as I really feel that's what they do most and best. Perhaps something where he mentions Maria or The Radio. I can't pick one because it's also kind of making fun of them, but if I had to I would put forth something like "Meet Me By The River's Edge" or "Blue Dahlia" or "The Spirit of Jazz" or "Say I Won't (Recognize)".

 

Exactly why Stray Paper is so good :p

and yeah that was an exaggeration on my part, sorry haha.

 

Have Mercy is so obviously the opening track on Get Hurt it's painful that it's not. Have Mercy into Rollin' and Tumblin' would've been perfect.

Once upon a time is the most "gaslight" song. Name drops, drivin', chevy '72, MLK, bars, Cali, them high pants, bring it on home to me, lord they gave me the blues

Edit: Before I get called out: I know it's a cover but it still counts!

 

Once Upon A Time cannot be the most Gaslight song because it is not a good song.

45 combines Gaslight's punk sound with its later more polished sound and uses a flip-the-vinyl metaphor. It's a clear winner. Most Gaslight song ever.
