I used to love Man Overboard when I was in high school. It was maybe the only band I ever got into as they formed, like their first ever tour. I had all of their original EPs that they burned on CD and sold for $5 with homemade art/lyric sheets and stuff. It was super cool because none of my friends were into the "scene" so it was the first time I felt like I was part of it and not just spectating. Those dudes were so good to me over the years: getting me into festival sets and stuff. Justin sent me a hard copy of Noise from Upstairs when I told him on AP.net that I couldn't make that tour, and was crestfallen because there would only be 500 copies made. Wouldn't even let me pay for shipping. I probably saw them 30 times.

I can't stand any of it objectively anymore, and they have changed a lot for the worse as people (at least Zac), but I'll always be grateful to them for those experiences.

Plus I sold those EPs for like $500 at the height of the Real Talk boom
