Everything i said about real friends goes for man overboard. "Defend pop punk." Like that suburban white boys only, misogynistic club needs defending. I went to see Daytrader years ago at a small venue and Daytrader couldn't make the show because they had a flat and I thought "hey, I drove an hour to the show, why not watch Man Overboard" and they were fucking awful. They literally hit all the pop punk cliches: bad lyrics, stocky dude with a baseball hat that could be in a Set Your Goals cover band, nerdy looking lead singer who looks like Ace Ender's younger, shy brother. Just a bunch of garbage.

 

That type of pop-punk has never gelled well with me. The stuff that came before that era, such as NFG, Sugarcult, Allister, etc. rules, but yeah, can't do bands like TSSF, State Champs, etc. Don't know why, it all just sounds the same to me.

 

That whole white boy club thing always struck me as a bit odd with Man Overboard. Over here at least, they always seemed to be a band with a pretty sizeable female following.

Doesn't change the fact that they were kind of bollocks...
