Well, I'm assuming the continued progression of several guys (Fiala, Saros, Sissons, Gaudreau, Aberg, etc) and the fact that this team is still very young. I also think Saros moves closer to the the guy next season. They almost won a cup without Johansen and Fiala, two of their top six. Several of those guys showed up big in the playoffs, and the season as a whole. Maybe I'm wrong, but the future is certainly very bright.

They should definitely have a better regular season in terms of standings and put themselves in a more friendly playoff seeding position.

 

I hope Cullen comes back. He's still great, but I don't blame him if he wants to retire on top like this

 

Because once the games are over, I watch local news and get stories about how people are setting sand angel records in Michigan, and it makes me realize the world is more fucked up than losing a sports game.

Tbh, as bummed out as I am that the team I was cheering for lost, it's pretty cool to see Matt Murray and Phil Kessel get another Cup while Crosby and Malkin cement their legacies.

of course that actually became mostly true when both teams lost the finals at home ice.
