greatly underappreciated movie. perverted and cold. also, the slipcover/cover art is wisely chosen.

It is rare that a horror movie lives up to the hype and, for me, Raw did this and then some. Incredible and visceral, ashamed I waited this long to put it on

I initially started it with my girlfriend and she was loving it but she kept gagging at some of the body horror stuff so I told her I'd proof watch the rest to make sure it was with her endurance - it absolutely is and I'm definitely gonna make her watch it. Back to our past conversation in here about the passing out, it was not horrific in a typical sense but I can definitely see people with a weak stomach and aversions to raw meat, flesh, etcbeing pretty disturbed haha

More than that, I wouldn't even say it was a horror movie, but I was enthralled the entire time. The imagery was beautiful, the sound design was great. I'm a sucker for good cinematography so put that with an incredible story and then take a lot of interesting themes and handle them with a deft ambiguity and you have yourself a winner. Also, not ambiguity in the way that you leave the film scratching your head and grasping at straws. I like that there's room for discussion but still a clear narrative. Rambling now but I just really, really loved this film. Among the best I've seen in a long time.

yeah, they've been killing it lately. I read this one is a bit of a slow burn so I know it will take a while for anything substantial to happen but I'm here for it

Love column for me. My favorite film of last year.

It Comes At Night was pretty great as well. Very brooding film. I won't call it a slow burn because it didn't quite have the big payoff at the end. It was very tense through out. That score was the best part about it. Sooooo good. Kept me on edge. I don't know where this will ultimately land on my end of the year list, but it'll be a contender for top 5 I'm sure.

it comes at night is bad. watch time of the wolf and save yourself time/money/patience. the "tension" is basically people yelling and like two dream sequences and a shootout. oh yeah but it almost pays off when you see the gutted dog carcass near the end.

I mean I get that you didn't like it, but why come into this thread that isn't even set up for the film and spoil it for others that haven't seen it?

You could have easily voiced your opinion without posting two separate spoilers...

Go fuck yourself. Come in here and just crap on a movie that clearly went over your head. I'm glad a majority of the people in this thread will recognize your opinion as shit and disregard it. Others may not like the film, but at least they'll be able to put together a more cohesive rebuttal to the film. Wish Upon is coming out soon. Maybe a more generic film will be your speed. Fuck off.

  19. everybody chill, we're each entitled to our own opinions and as long as we don't spoil highly anticipated movies for each other i think we'll be just fine

I have a cisgendered heteronormative family unit and we're very interesting. Mostly on game night. We play a contentious game of Monopoly and my mother makes a delicious cherry crisp. I'm usually not in bed until 11-11:30.

Krisha is very strong, and actually shows some interesting influences of horror but it's pretty much straight drama.

never watch movies in theaters, except maybe classics that are brought back to the big screen
