Harper has always been bigger, but he definitely has gotten a bit more lean

 

Slade getting banned is like being surprised that Cena is going to beat Flair's championship record.

 

I'm watching Stairway to Hell for the first time. Jesus fucking christ, Sandman is horrible. He always sucked, but he almost goddamn murders Sabu three times in a span of 30 seconds. Sabu is clearly mouthing stuff like "what the fuck is this guy doing"

This match was also amazing

 

Kenny and Okada match was very good as I expected, I think I liked the WK match more still but damn these two are so impressive.

 

He's been visiting me at work less and less, it shows

 

I feel like 90% of the NJPW matches ive watched the past few days have been 5 man tag matches lol

Okada-Omega was pretty good but was too long.

Nah. I liked the WK match more. There were a couple sloppy spots and a couple of bad Okada sells, particularly with the knee early on. Still very entertaining, but anytime you're trying to put together a match of that length, you're going to run the risk of it dragging, which it did at points. I don't think that's an unreasonable criticism.

Edit: also part of my criticism is based on the high bar they've set in the past, too.

 

Same feeling I had. Right in line with my feelings on Cena/AJ, where the Rumble match they had was probably technically better, but the overall story was better at Summerslam. For Cena/AJ, they repeated a lot of spots....for Okada/Omega, it was Superman Punch levels of spamming a single move.

That said, as weird as it is to think for a 60min match, it was clearly setting up their third match whenever that is

Okada v. Omega being so good just reminds me of the dirtsheet rumors after Wrestle Kingdom that said "WWE have apparently noticed wrestling fans like good matches and are looking to do the same for the main event of WM"... and we got Reigns/Taker lol.

 

It was great seeing 90% of people standing up by the exit just waiting for the match to finish to get the fuck out of there.

 

Yeah, I don't watch a ton of NJPW, just kind of the hyped matches. Is it always that finish-heavy? It got pretty tiresome towards the end.

 

I can't believe I am 26 and super pumped for a John Cena return. Who would've guessed his reputation would shift so greatly lol.

 

Main events can be. They mostly reserve it for the big shows. This and the last one were a huge deal, so it was going to go in that direction.

 

Where do you watch main events to PPV's that aren't finish heavy? Lol

 

Okada's finisher is super protected. He usually wins with one. Having his do five or six is huge.

 

Yeah, they do it right. Outside of NJPW though from what I see matches are all about false finishes
