Absolutely fascinating extra outcome from the polls coming out tonight... I assume the don't know results are massive, but still.

I know people in here don't like Jess Phillips but she's really right here. Some may not agree with me but it doesn't seem quite as opportunistic as MPs like Chuka Umunna for instance. Either way, it's an interesting peek behind the scenes

Are there any numbers or articles on Labour's share of the vote with minority communities?

She's wholly unhelpful to Corbyn and therefore the Labour cause pre-election i agree, but it seems like she's genuinely honest in her intentions and I don't think she's particularly right of the party. Her issues appear to be in approach rather than policy. Yes she could use some tact but I think it's refreshing to some how unfiltered she comes across- it's in some ways just a deviation of Corbyn's honest approach to politics. That and she's a fantastic advocate for women's rights which I just can't be against.

If this is true, holy shit this is gross and if the Tories had any respect they'd see this as unworkable through principle and the good Friday agreement.

Not really helpful with regards to your question but this is about as much information as I can find on demographics. Tends to be done on class, education, age and gender. Will be particularly interested in Jewish voter preference given Labour's perceived antisemitism issue.

Ah, sorry, Financial times must have a weird model in place. Googling election demographics UK and clicking the financial times link there should get you through to it.

I don't think she's "honest" like Corbyn is at all. Every action she takes seems to be nothing more than an effort to boost her own media profile. It's so transparent. I hate the line in that article where she says: "Another group will still remain a thorn in his side, blindly rejecting the positives, not dissimilar to the group Corbyn was part of in the Blair years." There's a huge difference between the anti-Corbyn Labour MPs attacking Corbyn for his supposed unelectability (which is now a completely discredited view anyway) and Corbyn attacking Blair for the Iraq war which killed hundreds of thousands of people. Corbyn's attacks against Blair were nuanced and worthwhile, whereas Phillips' criticisms are unhelpful and little more than sabotage. Ultimately, the only thing Jess Phillips cares about is Jess Phillips.

As for being an advocate for women's rights, she told Diane Abbott to fuck off and then gloated about it to the press. When you consider the whirlwind of racist abuse (and death threats) that Diane Abbott has to contend with on a daily basis just for the crime of being a black woman in parliament, do you really think Phillips' behaviour here was appropriate? She literally made her name in politics off the back of putting down the first black woman ever elected to parliament. It's disgusting. I guess Phillips' brand of feminism doesn't extend to women of colour.

These tweets explain really well why she is so bad:

I genuinely don't know why you like her haha, she is clearly not a good person imo

She definitely has faults and everything she's done in relation to Abbott is clear in that- though it must be noted aside from the first interaction being unnecessary I'd argue a lot of it could've just been an obvious conclusion to come to for a lot of politicians, rightly or wrongly.
I guess my first view of her was Owen Jones interviewing her after the first leadership election and she came across in a positive way to me. Since I've been following her she's been probably the most vocal domestic violence legislation advocate I've seen and that's a huge point I respect her for. Now she's getting behind Corbyn, I see that as nothing but a good thing, even if she's from a different wing of the party because I think her politics are good. Dunno, I guess a lot of it was a snap value judgement from me and I think that can be quite difficult to shake.

I wonder what ways he'll find to mess up the environment...

Another politician I can't stand. Arrogant and calculated.

I'm not usually this bitter and angry. I'm a nice person who sees the best in people usually. Honest.

You have every reason to dislike Gove, he's terrible.

Obviously there's rumours flying around that Boris will attempt a leadership grab. What are people's thoughts on that? Clearly he's one of the best known figures in British politics atm so is bound to have some substantial backing, but is he tarnished enough by Leave/any number of gaffes to diminish his standing?
