doesn't have the spontaneous feel of the first one but both are great and the bit at the end about how the band knows that song and not "I can feel a hot one" is so funny. That whole show is on YouTube and its great

This is a much watch for people who want to be in the know of andy hull lore

 

The Gold is some beautiful/sprawling indie rock goodness, and I like it.

Listened to Cope/Hope the other week, and both have things I love. Though I gravitate towards Cope even with the bad production.

 

He did the same bit at the Boston Date and I laughed way too hard at it haha

 

what is the "deluxe" version for 36 then on Amazon? It is more than the vinyl alone...

 

We have no idea yet. But I'm ready to cancel the $90 version and kee my amazon order if it's the Gold variant and packaging.

 

Damnit, that's kind of tempting since the $94 version just adds a t-shirt and the music box. I have a few MO shirts already that I like better and that puts the music box at around $40... It's cool but...

My theory: The $35 Amazon vinyl is the $29 option on the site (it's also listed as deluxe, there). The $25 Amazon option is black vinyl maybe without the etching and something else included with Deluxe we don't know about?

 

The etching will be on all formats.

And I have a hard time believing they are charging $10 more just for a different colored variant.

 

I wonder if there will be a standard black, single-vinyl version. The album is 49 minutes, so that's pushing the maximum for a single 12" but isn't out of the question.

 

that means there will have to be two masters for the album, which doesnt seem cost effective on their part, but i could be wrong.

 

Last time I saw them together Andy was like "We have a very special thing tonight, Kevin Devine is going to freestyle" and then Kevin, while laughing attempted to freestyle. Basically all he got out was "It's a lot of pressure, its a lot of pressure" then started laughing too hard.

 

So you read nothing into the fact that the band's site lists the $29 option as deluxe? I'm just throwing out theories, here.

 

That's true, but it's something I've seen fairly often on Amazon: single, black variants that I haven't seen anywhere else.

I highly doubt the deluxe option on Amazon is the Gold variant from the bundle

 

It's all just speculation at this point until the band clarifies.

Maybe the cheapest vinyl option on Amazon is just standard black vinyl that isn't 180 grams. But even still, $10 difference still seems like a lot if that's the case. Has someone tried reaching out on social media or something?

 

The Gold is really solid, I'm excited for the album

 

My guess for the Amazon version for $25 would be black and not 180g.
