  3. my favorite take "actually this doesn't matter, 72% youth turnout for the first coherent left wing platform in memory doesn't mean anything, some hypothetical faceless blob of blairism would've won even bigger, (but also I can't say at all who that would've been)"

All of the evidence: left wing policies are popular

"Actually, candidates with no appeal and centrist nothing policies statistically are the way to go"

  5. "duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh the campaign i worked on got its fucking ass kicked because we were incompetent morons, but our milquetoast neoliberal bullshit that objectively and unequivocally creates environments where fascism thrives is actually good because my counterparts in France and Canada were moderately more competent than me managed to not fall on their face like I did. the candidate that brought out 72% youth vote? meaningless, doesn't matter, should be ignored, i will not take any lessons from them. i love fascism"

I swear to god I never want to hear another god damn word from any of these people's mouths

Sees how important the youth vote is
All millennials are stupid and should be banned from voting except for that one college Republican

    let's rev up those tapes

    ETA:

Sounds like it's BS to appease Trump. They don't have a good play here besides whining on Twitter/Fox.

I'm interested to see how many first time voters and those who haven't voted in a long time went for Corbyn. i.e. what happens when you give a reason for people to turnout for you

  10. Hm...............actually I don't want this. I'd rather run a candidate who everyone hates

Master of not knowing what the hell I'm doing.

Can't find the tweet now but reports are Labour's over 65 vote share increased too. As amazing as the youth turnout in this election was, we can't let a narrative of Old v Young go out. This manifesto appealed to everyone.

  15. Is that why Bernie didn't turn them out? If 72% turned out he would have *actually* won.

  16. You're right, we need to go much farther left than Bernie did.

Who is the furthest left elected official in the US right now?

  19. Fair enough, just hope they aren't sabotaged from the inside by the right wing of their own party. Although Corbyn overcame that, so who knows

  20. If 72% turn out, don't see how any sabotaging can impact it. The race would be over with that turnout immediately.

Pretty much. "sabotage" aka favoring one candidate over the other can't do shit in the face of those kind of turn out numbers.

It's almost like young people in America are uniquely shitty in their inability to care about politics and policy.

That's still a pretty unrealistic goal in the US, I'd assume. Generally your turnout is about 10-15% lower than us so you'd probably be aiming more for ~60%. Anything could happen though!

Heh...I would bet money Booker gets the youth vote out pretty strongly, at least as strong as Obama 2012 was able to.
