Weird seeing blue in Scotland. Most of my political life (I remember Blair's victory in 1997) they've not had much up there at all. After years of Labour and then SNP I've never really seen blue in Scotland.

Greens hold on to Brighton Pavilion.

The SNP candidate in Fife North East just won by 2 votes! Wow, what must it be like to be in a constituency where literally ever vote matters?!

Not just hold on but increased the majority significantly!

Interesting how Amber Rudd and Zac Goldsmith have both won. If Lib Dems had backed Labour in Rudd's constituency and not stood and if Labour had backed Lib Dems in Goldsmith's constituency and not stood we'd be looking at 2 less Conservative MPs. (And depending on your political persuasion, two awful Conservative MPs).

Proud of Labour. That said, this is still chaotic in regards to Brexit. Article 50 has been triggered so hopefully it's resolved soon. The EU are going to be confused as to who to negotiate with and May needs to leave because she does not look 'strong and stable'. But hey, if Tories mess this up then that weight can be on them like how people blame Labour for their 'debt' in a previous global recession.

Who's going to be PM if May resigns soon? Boris Johnson?

How bittersweet that all those Tories who mocked Corbyn for "IRA support" now have to rely on the DUP to get them pass the finish line.

Latest news from Downing Street is that Theresa May will not be resigning and is attempting to form a government as the party with the most seats and the most votes.

When you take out the Speaker and Sinn Fein, how close are the Conservatives to a majority?

I hope she will not resign in the same way that she will not be calling an early election.

Just woke up after going to bed at 3.30. This is so wonderful.

    Fuck May.

Thank you Jeremy Corbyn for being so strong and stable through a leadership where you've been battered and bruised.

    Finally some good news.

I've done the maths and if Sinn Fein's 7 MPs don't take their seats, the Conservatives should have a tiny majority. Propped up by the DUP and we're looking at a weak government but a Conservative led government nonetheless...

And this is why PR matters. DUP got less than 1% of the vote but their 10 seats could decide the fate of the government.

Labour got > 2% less of the vote than Tories but there's a 50 seat difference.

This has to be part of our fight moving forwards.

Not to mention that SNP got less than 1 million votes with 35 seats and Lib Dems got over 2 million with about a third of the seats!

Green got half a million votes and only 1 seat.

Great to steps forward rather than backwards for women but still a long way to go.

Record number of women elected to Parliament.

Seeing my hometown (Canterbury) which has been Tory since 1918 - now have a Labour win is incredible.

Master of not knowing what the hell I'm doing.

I honestly think vote share could work in our favour. All the left wing parties together, I believe, have higher vote share than the tories and DUP. It's the Queen that has the final say at this point I think, so this could be very interesting indeed. All is still in play.

Conversely, England are screwing us with their Tory love-in.

It is an absolute disgrace and proves only one thing: Scotland is pro-independence v anti-independence now. There is no real left vs right political spectrum. The upturn in Corbyn is an explanation for it because the pro-independence vote is being split from SNP, back to Labour. Greens didnt stand to facilitate helping SNP in some areas too.

    Won't happen.
