I found this album to be pretty boring. With June, Guardian and the opener, feels like you kind of get the gist of it.

I agree it's not the most musically diverse album to come out this year, but that doesn't really bother me. I feel that the songwriting is strong enough to make up for it, but it's not a big deal if others don't agree. I also think that songs like Same Stone, Bullet, and Brass Ring help break it up enough to keep things interesting.

As long as we all agree that Guardian is an incredible song, we're good.

Is Brianna just kind of there now? From what I read Ben did guitars, bass, drums, and most of the vocals for the record.

I mean, she still plays keys, and she is singing more than she ever has.

There is keyboard on every song, sometimes buried but it's there

I'm pretty sure she also does the art for the band. She designed Charmer and this new one, and I think the old ones too if I'm not mistaken

I wish the organ was a little louder in the mix here for sure

I've been listening to this album just about every day since it released, not bored of it yet, sure it's a pretty straightforward album, but it does that part so well that I don't mind.

Grabbed this on a whim on Monday, and I'm really glad that I did. This is going to be in heavy rotation.

yea I love the record, It certainly doesn't redefine the genre or anything but the songwriting is great and it captures the sound its going for really well.

some of my problems too is that every song they do the same thing vocally. also has one lead singer and then for the chorus and some melody parts they have the other singer harmonizing.

this album would have been a lot better if they had any back and forth on here

Yeah I have no idea why there is no back and forth. You have two very different sounding vocalists. Utilize them.

And that's a criticism for almost every band with two singers.

i'm a big fan of bens voice so it don't bother me much.

Eh, I think some more alternation between the two of them would certainly be a good thing, but it's not something I think about too much while I'm listening to the album.

bahahahah i see your point, their first four records were the shit for me in 2014-15 but now it's definitely hard to not cringe at most of whatever Tom does

I walk around singing "these days it's hard not to feel alone..." to myself on a daily basis.

The last 3-4 songs on here are killer.

Yeaaah, but 6/8 isn't the same as 3/4... semantics kinda, but I know what you're saying

The only song I skip on occasion is "Blurry Vision," but that might be wanting to go directly to Guardian after Escape Plan because those songs are elite.

So, almost every band? A ton of bands have multiple members who can sing. Doesn't mean it's necessary for there to always be a back and forth or dual vocalist thing going on.

    it's different from 4/4 nonetheless
