I will pre-order the more limited variants usually when I can. But when out shopping for records I don't really care about finding rare variants usually. I am only trying to get variant collections and more rare pressings from my most favorite artists. I do like color variants a lot though just because of the aesthetic, but I don't really care the pressing info behind it.

 

I will usually go for the rarest variant possible, unless I really don't like the color/design. For this recent Scary Kids Scary Kids release I actually went for the variant that was 150 instead of 100 because I liked the design more.

 

I was so torn on that! I also liked the 150 variant better but still ended up getting the 100 one haha. Hoping the quality on these aren't too terrible, being ETR. Still had to have this nostalgic album either way haha.

Thank you for this! I'm probably gonna pick up a few. Narrowing down what I want will be hard they have a lot of stuff I want haha.

 

My bank account is going to suffer hard this second half of the year from preorders. Paramore vinyl coming soon, Circa, Citizen, QOTSA...the list goes on. But when it comes to going for rare or limited pressings, I'm personally not the type to dish out an exorbitant amount of cash on one if I can get another equal quality pressing for way cheaper. When its a preorder and I have to choose between pressings, I'll usually go for the one I think looks best vs just going for the most limited one.

 

That's my problem, I told myself no more than 3 haha.

I'm so stoked on that Paramore. I'm anxiously waiting on news for that.

 

Ended up going with Peripheral Vision and Workin' With The Miles David Quintet. 2 things I can now take off my wantlist.

Scary Kids Scaring Kids - The City Sleeps In Flames (ETR)

Even so I also got the Ratboys - GN preorder. Makes me think I should slow down, even if this 20% is tempting.

 

I'm just starting a vinyl collection, and trying to keep it relatively small with just my favorite albums that have stood the test of time. Even so, it's hard not to want to buy them all at once. Especially when the OOP ones seem to be getting more expensive by the day.

 

anymore for new releases I'm waiting a few weeks after release and looking for NM+ on discogs for cheaper prices

 

Well... I went a little overboard last week after getting my first paycheck even tho I knew damn well I had to pay student loans lol. At least I'll be getting some good stuff in the mail this month/next month?

Btw that Smidley (Conor from Foxing's new project) album is great!

 

Overboard is like the story of my life.

I'm going to try to catch Smidley here tomorrow night with Tigers Jaw! Not sure I can for sure go, but I'm going to try because I've heard great things.

Still waiting for that rumored Gold LP release of Louder Now. Did you pre-order the black 140g?

 

Yeah just went with Amazon for now. If something more intriguing comes from the band, I may cancel and go that route.

Yeah I just went with the retail black for this and their self-titled. Colored variants from the band will probably be like $5 more plus an additional $5 shipping.
