    Meet me in Montauk. Prestigious

I wonder how much closer it would have been if independents could have voted.

I'm not convinced that the GOP isn't planning on fucking over Trump in the worst possible way, with Trump being 100% in on it.

    1) It lets Trump be the "moderate" in the race, in between the evil Clinton and the cheating republicans (also letting him distance himself on certain social issues)

    2) It paints Trump as an unfairly treated victim making it easier for him to rally support around himself

Sure, a Ryan type figure might get 15% in the general election but how many of those 15% would actually have voted for Trump if Ryan wasn't a candidate?

I tried, that's all I can really say right now. I got in with an hour left and brought my mom, at least I can sleep at night with a clear conscience. It's tough, really tough.

Definitely a lot closer. It was independents that lead him to win Michigan, and I think they could have done the same in NY if they were allowed to vote.

    I didn't vote today

    I feel shame.

  9. Wouldn't that have had to be done back in October?

It's not as though there was really any other option. Like it or not, we were where we were. Couldn't even get moderate Ds to support public option.

And United is ridiculous and greedy. I'd love it if someone in the WH quoted their balance sheet.

Now, I will acknowledge that yes, structurally, for the first few years there could be some losses for marketplace based plans. You have sick people gaining access and therefore ultization goes up. Then they switch to another plan down the road and the first plan "loses" their investment. In a few years it will stabilize. Of course without full blown Medicaid expansion, there will continue to be significant challenges.

I debated just calling it a day. But in a presidential year it felt wrong. I need somewhere I can vent that won't get me into too much trouble!

A 16-point loss in NY is very disappointing and is the dagger in the Sanders campaign.

Very sad. But, regardless, this was the anticipated outcome and the DNC's rollback of lobbyist restrictions a couple months ago was the dagger in me considering voting Clinton in the general election.

While I haven't been invested in any candidate's campaign, I still plan on casting my vote for Bernie next Tuesday. I think in part because it's been eight years since my last primary vote.

Dang...Trump with a yuuuuuge win. Didn't think it would be that much of a blowout. I'm telling you, this is the year the GOP implodes. If this thing goes to a vote Trump won't win and the people who voted for him will rebel against the GOP.

Pretty much a guaranteed win for Hillary unless something changes with that FBI investigation.

If it wasn't for family, I'd likely already be in Denmark, a place that since has had its own right-wing insurgence the past 5 years.

I currently work for a company based out of there and I'm a little worried about that myself. Probably won't effect it off the back but who knows in the future.

I don't think he actaully can run a 3rd party campaign, it's too late to get on the ballot in a lot of states. But the way he's talking, he's almost certainly not going to encourage his voters to vote for the eventual nominee. The GOP is literally fucked. If even half of those voters decide to stay home, they have no chance.

I read an interesting piece the other day about how the insurance companies won't be compelled to make people healthier overall because their customers could just switch to a competitors plan year after year.

I'm with you on the facts behind the ACA and why it is what it is of course, but it's apparent that there's just no way to use the market to keep health care prices down like they hoped it would. You need all payer rate setting, or some sort of public option.

One of the only things keeping my spirits up is the fact that if this election goes to shit then the one following this is certain to be radically different.

I'm also crossing my fingers for the California primary. If Bernie wins that state, which it looks like he will, I feel like that will be a game-changer.
