That and Cueto's bubble almost (almost) made up for how much I can't stand Peavy and Strickland.

Any truth to the whole racial slurs being yelled at Heyward in St. Louis and them being picked up on the TV broadcast thing? Keep seeing stuff on FB about it, but no videos/audio.

I haven't seen anything but I wouldn't be surprised that some drunk jackass would say something. They're in every stadium.

True. Was there bad blood concerning his departure from the Cards? I was an awful baseball fan this past year and a half, didn't keep up with much of anything..

    Also true.

NYND already said that there is no proof of this a little bit ago after posting their initial story. Not true.

No bad blood really, Cards fans just seemed to really like him and feel shafted he left for a division rival.

    Good to know.
Feel kind of dumb for not thinking about that. I always forget they're essentially the Red Sox/Yankees of the NL, haha.

I think I'm in a minority of Cubs fans, but I haven't felt much of a spark in the rivalry in a while. I think there's some real potential now for it to fester and grow after meeting in the playoffs and poaching two of their players. Jason Heyward in the offseason said the rivalry is mostly between the fans:
I've always felt more pulled towards the Cubs-White Sox rivalry, though that probably has to do with growing up in the only part of the state that is at all a hotbed for White Sox fandom.

I forgot who did a good analysis of the Cubs-Cardinals rivalry but there has been a surprisingly low number of seasons where both teams have been good which is why as big of a rivalry it's always considered friendly. I'm talking single digits where they've truly competed for playoff spots

Really hope the Rays score first in this game or it could be a painful L after what Smyly has done today.

Jarrod Saltalamacchia has been fun early this season. I don't think he has a single yet but he has five home runs.

Be sure to drink your Ovaltine.

Bartolo Colon ate all of the clubhouse food so they got angry.

I was so sad to see Price go in that trade, but Smyly's last several starts in that first season with us were fantastic. Lost him to injury a bit last year, but he's been solid so far this season.
