Opinium has their poll lead today down from 10% to 6%. I think this is what's important, seeing the polls predicting the bigger leads closing rather than the polls like Yougov that are predicting narrowing. If the polls are closer to coming to a consensus, it means that Labour is more likely to be closing on a win.

Sorry for more polls, but I think this is particularly important. While 2015 wasn't wholly accurate in its predicted figure, the seat count was still well within the realms of possibility according to the range given, so it did kind of predict the result we got. This has Labour losing, at most, 2 seats on the 2015 result and the Conservatives, at best, gaining 10 seats on their current position. If that was the case, it'd be extremely difficult not to argue that May should step down, and also extremely difficult to argue that Corbyn wasn't successful.

Interesting that after talking to some of my very right-wing colleagues today, their opinion on Corbyn has changed fairly significantly. Not enough to convert their vote, but it gives me hope.

Seems the biggest problem Labour have is that while people like their policies, there's a general sense that for some reason they're unrealistic or unachievable. I think one of the most damaging things the Tories have done is convinced the public that we're completely strapped for cash and we can't afford nice things.

I'd agree, and really that's an issue that needs a Labour government to sort as its only option. I'm not really sure how to dispel that narrative other than getting into power and proving them wrong. As much as I think all the policies are a good thing, there is a large element with campaigning where this issue comes up of a 'wait and see' attitude, because really aside from saying that it's fully costed there's not much else to come back with on it.

So little of politics is actually based on fact. Everyone just knows saying 'I don't like playing tax and if poor people suffer as a result, so be it' makes them sound like the awful people they really are.

The fact this is a 1 point lead is astounding, but the fact it's closed a gap of 11 points is even more amazing.

Reports of another attack in London. Apparently a van mounted the pavement and was running people over. Also reports of stabbings and gunfire but that's not confirmed. Fucking hell, this is awful.

I don't know whether the guy at the end shouting about them being muslim and the guy afterwards immediately calling them an idiot should have me feeling awful or proud. This whole situation is horrific.

Another terrorist attack is awful. My brother actually lives at Tower Bridge so quite traumatic. Words fail me really. Heartbreaking. Horrific. When the attacks are so random, what can be done? I know everyone says carry on as usual but how can you? I feel so much pain for the innocent families caught up in these attacks.

They're not random. People get radicalized, and like the Manchester attack, their community warns authorities and when authorities fail to act, this happens.

That's what you took from my post...?

It is very difficult to prevent 100%. Radicalised people will still slip through the net. There is still an element of unpredictability - it's very hard to know where and when.

There was a massive anti-terror raid in Sheffield on Thursday with arrests. Intelligence and authorities are working harder and harder to keep people safe.

Anyway, I was lamenting. My heart is sad. That's what I want to convey. I'm devastated for those that are killed by these attacks here in the UK and across the world.
