I'd be pissed if we got Foo Fighters lol

 

I'd be pissed if we got Arcade Fire, so whateverrr. Honestly, I'd take either of them as the Sunday headliner so I can leave early, see: RHCP a few years back

 

Were you W1 during RHCP? That sandstorm was HELL.

 

uh yes, and driving back during it was honestly one of the scariest drives of my life. The entire highway was driving like, 15 mph and sand was hitting the car in a way that honestly felt like a solid wall of sand, couldn't see even an inch ahead of us. Unreal.

 

Was on a school bus that we rent every year to get to and from our Palm Springs house and the bus was shaking. I was also pretty spun out so I was rapidly jumping between laughing and being terrified haha.

Beyonce / Weeknd / Chainsmokers

 

God help us if the Chainsmokers are actually a headliner.

I'm putting my money on Beyonce - Foo Fighters - Justin Timberlake. Queens of the Stone Age being a sub.

 

I'd be so down for Chainsmokers as the Sunday headliner. I love leaving before Sunday headliner when I don't want to see them

 

I highly doubt that's real honestly unless The Weeknd is dropping a new album before the fest and Chainsmokers would be a terrible headliner

 

So would The Weeknd cancel if The Chainsmokers are before him on the bill?

 

- The Weeknd played 2012 and 2015, so it's not crazy to think he'll be back again, another 3 years later. ESPECIALLY after his surprise appearance last year. It's clear he loves the fest, and the fest loves him. He hasn't played since Starboy, and is undoubtedly at headliner status. By the time Coachella comes around, it will be longer since Starboy came out than the time between Beauty and Starboy, extremely high possibility of a new album.

- Chainsmokers are the biggest EDM act currently, period. They had Calvin Harris close out the fest with a headline set, and if they had Chainsmokers back again (they played 2015?) they are very easily a headline act. Imagine if they bring out guests too, would be a huge set

 

I see what you're saying about The Weeknd but if it's a Starboy show I don't think it'll happen. He's played so many festivals and toured everywhere for that album but if he does have a new one by then, I'll absolutely be up for that (I'm a huge fan)

Chainsmokers would have a huge set but one that I definitely wouldn't be at lol

 

Weeknd - Friday, Beyonce - Saturday, Chainsmokers - Sunday would definitely be my preference if this trio is true.

 

weeknd is just legit touring for 9 months on starboy until the end of the year, which im sure he will want an extended break after.

 

Tour ends in mid-December and Coachella is April, and even then it wouldn't means starting a whole new tour... even if he takes an extended break, one show in the middle of it (and getting paid a boatload) isn't something he'd skip out on

 

I just hope if he performs it's like Kendrick where he ends up debuting a huge portion of a new album

 

Instead of the Chainsmokers, would Snake be big enough for the headlining spot? There's a ton of different guests he can bring out. Basically everyone from AlunaGeorge to Bieber to Diplo and more.

 

He already played this year and was 4th billed on his day

but no, not quite. The difference really comes down to mainstream popularity. Calvin headlined because he has multiple #1 hits as a DJ, Chainsmokers have just as many as him probably. DJ Snake has a few BIG hits, but just a few

 

Ah never mind then. Maybe he's a few hits away from headlining.

 

Very true. He headlined Electric Zoo this year so he's a headliner in the EDM world but not quite in the mainstream world.

 

Yeah, he closed out the Outdoor stage when he played Coachella, so definitely one of the highest billed EDM acts of the year

I'd say The Weeknd - Beyoncé - Arctic Monkeys. Although they'd probably sub.

 

Hopefully he gets bigger. One of the more unique sounding EDM artists around. Honestly, I just don't want to see Marshmello getting that spot haha

 

I'm basing this off of nothing, but I just have a feeling this is the year Foo Fighters finally headline.
