The creation date of the instagram doesn't matter at all in this situation tbh

I believe you're thinking of 12/22/13 Bell House show. Best show I've ever seen, Brand New or otherwise.

Haha I'm guessing you are right. Vin is a beast. At Summer Endz in AZ last year he was just like all over the place, more so than I'd ever seen him. I have no idea how he accurately plays his guitar while full on wigging out on stage the way he does.

    This is beautiful

It just makes me sad how loud they had Garrett's bass turned up, but in my heart I feel like they did it on purpose to ruin sound quality on videos. Haha.

It's hard to say I think. Being at the show, it sounded fine, but I remember just FEELING that bass vibrating throughout my entire body during "You Won't Know." Considering you were there too, I think you would agree that the bass there felt like a thundering exclamation point to a show that straddled the line between vicious and playful. It seriously sounded like a fucking bomb went off in the venue when he hits that bass note. Both in your video and on the bootleg.

Here's that bootleg for those that want it. HIGHLY recommended, one of my favorites. Love the "Logan."

There seems to be a lot of potential significance in 418 related to Brand New.

    "RIP 2018"

    2. Jesse will be 40 in 2018, after hinting at breaking up a few times around that age.

    3. If 418 is 4-18 (month/year), April has been pretty significant since their loud return. Mene's first live performance was April 8th 2015 and released on April 13th.

    4. Brand New started in 2000.

In 2018, the band will be 18.

If they break up in 2018 they will stay 18 forever.

Anyway, that's just some and I'm sure there is more.

I refuse to believe or think the band thinks about this kind of stuff. I honestly think they just get together / put out records / go on tour... The rest of us try and make it way more complicated.

I don't doubt that there is a team involved that helps produce these things (like the UP studio) as the majority source of PR/hype building, but I think it's pretty naive to ignore the pamphlet that says "RIP 2018" they sent out.

The whole "mysterious" thing has been a growing part of their image as a band since their reclusiveness after Deja. I think it's pretty likely that they deliberately put out ambiguous stuff to fuel the fire. I don't think it's dishonest or anything. It's part of the fun and a genuinely good marketing strat. Additionally, they have been so much more transparent and vocal as a band in the past few months than they have in years.

I don't think they'll last forever and I think they're really creative individuals. I can totally see them making a statement when they gather us to lay this beast to rest.

With them being more open and active on social media, I feel like they're trying to leave the mysterious image behind?

Yeah, I wonder that too sometimes. That stuff was admittedly sent out before they were so active.

In the end, we're not entitled to answers and they're not required to give any.

Can anyone give even a single example of the band, not just guesses and theories, ever proving a single crazy fan theory to be real? Ever? I truly don't think they think about any of this viral shit like the fans want them to

  25. derbiter

    Newbie

I don't think that any of it being provable and whether or not they do it deliberately is mutually exclusive.

I think it's more likely that they are very aware of the speculative wild fire their ambiguity and mysterious shit creates and that they have no problem spinning up some fun wild goose chases (even if they're all dead ends) for the sake of promo.
