Oh man... unification matches involving championship belts from a promotion explicitly filmed for television that never even premiered. I can feel the prestige from here.

 

Also, biggest show of the year:
No tag title defense (LAX has two sets of belts)
No Grand Champion defense (the most interesting thing they have going)
Cody isn't wrestling and he has a GFW belt (I think he has NJPW obligations)

 

They've blown it with Aries and neville. Instead of letting Aries and neville talk more...build both of their characters...really make this match feel like Aries last chance... they said nah. Let's just do tjp tag matches for weeks.

If that's the case, that PPV fucking sucked last year out side of the Hardy's match.

 

BFG 2014 is some of my favorite wrestlecrap ever. It was taped in Japan, still put on PPV, and TNA had already taped the shows set to air AFTER the PPV. Best parts:

• Samoa Joe lost his X Title at the aforementioned tapings, but TNA assumed Japanese fans wouldn't know that, so on the PPV he literally defended and retained a title that he already lost.
• Havok did the exact same thing with the women's title.
• After Team 3D's match, which was to be their last, Bully and D-Von put on Bullet Club shirts and tried to pull a "jumping ship" angle. Problems being: it was not cleared by TNA, not cleared by NJPW (who had no interest in them), and I'm not sure it even made the version that aired. They were just going into business for themselves and trying desperately to get a buzz going.
• The main event was The Great Muta and Tajiri v. James Storm and The Great Sanada

It usually is. Though BFG2016 had them at deaths door, but even then the card was better than this
