I don't think the dollar amount is the issue, there seems to be a "we don't want/need your government handouts" among that population...which of course disappears when they already have a government hand out and are about to lose it.

But you need their votes to get the people in office to pass a trillion dollars in spending on anything, let alone a specific region of the country---and they won't vote for someone who's trying to give them government hand outs and jobs training instead of scaling back regulations to make their old jobs come back.

Yeah, I don't think the "hand out" thing was operative there, but whatever.

  6. Like two months ago you were sharing quotes of Ellison talking about how bad the data and DNC has been maintained under Obama. Haha. Which one is it?

I mean we know it was bad. We know it's bad right now and needs a lot of work. And we know Obama didn't do a good job building it up.

I, personally, find the infighting hilarious, hence me posting that. And the poster was mocking Hillary, because she, and people around her, played the woke card pretty hard, particularly when they were juxtaposing race and class. So, that's my explanation for posting a meaningless and, to me, funny tweet. Good times.

You can both think a person gets what they deserve when they vote for someone, and also want to help that person via better policy.

I'll still support policies that will give everyone the help they need...but I'm not going to feel bad for most Trump voters while he is Prasident. They knew what they were voting for. And for the large majority of those that didn't know, that's because they didn't want to know.

  20. Wasn't very passive, made a joke right about that one. But I'm the no gofundme for the GOP neoliberal shill to begin with.

Meaning they voted for certain principles of governing and now they're getting them.

I think there's a balance between not condoning bigotry and just calling everyone stupid

On the contrary, I think some people are assuming Trump voters are too stupid, as if most of them couldn't possibly know or understand what they were voting for.

I would argue the opposite of that.
