Anyone have a good article on why/how climate change impacts minority/poor communities the most? I.e. the ACLU's tweet about pulling out of Paris?

 

With what's going on with the individual states.

I think we've got so much opposition to Trump on climate change that now we might be driven to plan and perform even better on carbon emissions than we could have otherwise. Weird. I've got a lot of hope reading what state governors and 1%er ran businesses are saying.

Shockingly enough the Chapo subreddit discussion thread of this episode has a very good discussion of these issues? Well not so much the pessimism part but of Foucalt, the "black body," and the middleground between Coates and Stephens.

Yeah I mean the fact that this isn't a way bigger story is insane. I hate to be one of the people who still says this but I literally can't even fathom the speed with which articles of impeachment would've been drawn up and passed for Obama if he had done anything like this.

I listened to it this morning on the way to work. What makes the usage of "bodies" annoying is it's used in every single case, even when not appropriate. However, the way in which it is used in Afro-pessimism is intended to denote the demarcation between those who are human with some more substance than their bodies and black people who live in the afterlife of slavery as socially dead. So, I think that was a little unfair. Other than that, and my aforementioned disagreements, I think RL was pretty on point.

 

RL apparently has a pod on jacobin, he seems hilarious and fun so maybe i'll give it a listen
