  1. He didn't call himself a "democrat" for ... what, 26 years? I don't think "because of this works" before even getting into whatever the establishment did or didn't do.

You're omitting that he did this, while still putting forth that myth of inherent black dysfunction and engaging in policy that actually did harm black people. That he uttered those words is meaningless if you're still sticking to a script that is inherently anti-black.

I think black folks have been taken for granted for far too long. They've been told the same thing by people like you over and over again. My sole point is, if democrats want these votes, they need to change in order to get them, because the current relationship between working-class black people to democrats is toxic and parasitic.

To be fair, Bernie hasn't been a Democrat in decades (ever?), and only switched to run for the nomination, so I don't think that reason alone is why he isn't a Dem again.

I agree that the establishment and the DNC in general were, at best, dumb during primary season, if not downright slimy in some ways. But Bernie didn't win specifically because he did a bad job getting his message to resonate with, in particular, southern minority and black voters. He also seemed to do better in caucus states than primary states from what I remember. But he did really bad in Dem states that were more heavily minority for whatever reason.

And omitting that he did those things while also talking about an issue no president or politician ever really has at that level, and engaged in policy that actually helped black people.

The party already has changed a bit and is changing more as time goes on, IF the people that vote continue to vote while pushing the party in a way that it wants. Abandoning the party as it starts to change sends the absolute wrong message to the party IMO.
