Now I Know This World Isn’t Spinning Just For Me Prestigious

It would be a close call, sure. I've seen Brand New live three times and they do sound really good live. Especially You Won't Know(do they still open with that? They opened with that all three times I saw them in different years). But I think me personally would still vote for Blink and self titled(even though theyre guilty of the same thing with Feeling This). I guess it comes down to preference (and perhaps which rendition of Blink we are talking. 2004 Blink? Blink with Skiba? Post Reunion Blink?)

FUCKIN SAVAGES IN THAT FUCKIN BOX Prestigious

TDAG and Untitled are my 1-2 favorite ever albums so if I saw them in full back to back I'd just have to stop going to shows lol

This is pure fantasy but if Blink and Brand New did a show where they played Self Titled and TDAG in full I would pay an absurd amount of money without hesitation.

If I hadn't already spent $200 on stubhub for tickets to Blink's tiny Brooklyn club show in Sept 2013, I would have totally flown out to LA for those untitled full album shows.

  11. I was to be in Tokyo when they first announced the 10-year shows and I think there was only one LA date. I WAS PISSED! Thank god they added more dates and I swooped that VIP REAL quick. haha.

I'm so glad the first 4 dates sold out and I had to go the 5th. They played an encore of like 2 rare songs + Dammit at every show and for the final show they played all of the ones they did at the previous shows + apple shampoo

Its absurd that I've seen Blink live 14 times over the span of 17 years and I've never seen Apple Shampoo live.

  21. 18 years ago, my life changed. It was the day that Enema of the State came out, and I begged my parents to take me to Target to buy a copy of it. That's when my life as I know it changed and actually really started.

I was so in love and so inspired by this album and this band that I decided that I wanted to get serious about playing guitar. I put away my shitty acoustic guitar and got an electric one so I could sound like Blink-182. After that, I learned how to play every song on Enema, and would put on fake concerts in my bedroom where I'd just play through the entire CD on my guitar. That's also when I started writing my own music for the very first time, which I still continue to do just about every day. And while religiously watching TRL and all those other music shows to make sure I didn't miss a single Blink interview or live performance, I started mimicking their fashion style, humor, and started listening to all of the other bands they'd mention. I finally felt like I belonged somewhere then, at 13 years old.

Big shout out to my parents for putting up with me blasting "All The Small Things" every day from my bedroom for who knows how long, allowing me to listen to it in the car when we'd go to the store (and for not taking it away when the songs would say bad words), and especially for letting me play my guitar at all hours of the day/night in the basement to create the weirdo that I am today.

Happy birthday, Enema of the State.

  22. Well I know what I'm listening to today. Thankfully you reminded me of this !

Let's hold our breath until we disappear

Great post, man. I love reading things like this.

I first received a burned copy of Enema of the State when I was in the 5th grade. Would have been around 2001 or so. I bought TOYPAJ shortly after, and the rest is history.

I didn't get EOTS the day it came out but that middle paragraph basically described my life word for word! Literally a life changing album for me.
