Cmon now he doesn't have an "awful" voice and the project wasn't "laughable"

 

i disagree i think his voice is very bad and i think the project is something i laugh at

people with worse voices have put out good music on acoustic/organic/stripped down instrumentation

 

thread should be called "defend your unpopular opinions" cuz thats what everyone has to do who posts an unpopular opinion!

 

I kinda always took that project as Soupy indulging in his Mountain Goats fandom to diminishing returns but granted I only listened to it probably 3-4 times all the way through

I think Conor Oberst has a worse voice than the guy from the wonder years and according to Bowie, Dylan has a voice like "Sand and glue". You can make up for being a poor vocalist if you're a good songwriter and/or a good lyricist.

From what little I remember of that album, while I didn't like his voice at all, I think (???) I found the lyrics and songwriting to be really uninteresting, and he had a tendency to just shout during the "emotional" parts (for lack of a better term).

 

most responses to my opinion on soupy's voice are "whataboutisms" try better arguments!!!

The Aaron West album is okay, haven't spun it in years, never felt much one way or the other about it. But I guess that's not unpopular huh?

 

I say this out of curiosity and not rudeness, but do you even believe this yourself? Haha
