Yeah, and people keep saying "but there's gonna be a beta" like actually getting to play it briefly isn't just going to make the wait for the actual launch even harder lol

 

Does anyone wanna help me defeat a raid without dying?

I only need that and defeat a raid on hard for the platinum and I want it so bad.

 

Caved and pre-ordered before my Prime trial was up. Registered for the beta today. Feels reeeeeeeeal good.

 

I need this one too but it's so difficult. I don't even know which raid I'd do it on. Probably Crota's End Normal mode?

 

CE normal with a bladedancer is easiest from what I've heard. I haven't done it myself either. Most groups just stay put and let the bladedancer do everything.

If you own a console and a PC, you technically get two betas haha. Gotta make up for the game not launching until October 24 on PC, I guess.

 

Pre-load for the beta apparently starts tomorrow. Gotta remember to get everything ready for maximum uptime next week. Can't wait to get in there and see how it feels.

 

Watching the beta right now. Man am I hype. Can't wait to play tomorrow.

Just kidding. I liked the campaign mission that I played earlier. Seems like there's an "actual" campaign this time

 

Campaign mission was good, the scripted events were neat though sorta hard to tell how much of that will carry over to later game stuff. Strike was also decent, I liked some of the bigger areas and it felt pretty unique. Not entirely sold on the 4v4 change to PVP but the new mode is really fun, maps were alright. I love the UI tweaks/new interface. Pretty good experience with the beta overall. It's definitely more Destiny with some changes here and there but I'm fine with that.

 

I liked the first story mission, very depressing compared to the first Destiny. And dang this strike was hard! Regarding PVP, I don't really do it so don't plan on testing it. Overall though, it wasn't different enough for me to really consider it "Destiny 2". It just felt like a DLC for Destiny. Hopefully though, that will change on the game's release when I'm able to play the rest of the game instead of what is contained to this beta.

 

So what all is crossing over into the next one? I don't care too much for the emblem and shader stuff, and since the weapons and that are also useless, I'm debating to get it on Xbox and not PS4 again. Since most of my friends play on Xbox now I'd rather be on there.

 

Literally nothing, it's an entirely fresh start. The only thing you'll be missing out on if you switch is the timed exclusive stuff that's only on PS4 (a strike, a PVP map, an exotic weapon, possibly more but that's all we know as of now).

 

I'll echo most of what's been said on here already. I thought the campaign mission was excellent, very exciting, lot of variety, mixing great character work in there with the action pretty seamlessly (that moment with Cayde is still one of my favorite Cayde moments even after seeing it a bunch of times - "It'll be a short date" haha). The strike was pretty much what I expected a strike to be in Destiny 2: longer than most D1 strikes, more varied mechanics during it, and the boss at the end was more than just a mostly stationary bullet sponge. As for PVP, I was skeptical about 4v4 at first, but I thought control played pretty well with the smaller group. I had a bunch of good games and some not-so-good games.

All-in-all I'm pleased with what they gave us here and I'm more excited for the full game than ever. That said, I probably won't play the beta the rest of the week, considering it's all going to be wiped away when it's over.

 

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. My brother is getting it on there too and he's who I played the first with, so may as well do that again.

 

Beta is a lot of fun.

Honestly think this game is going to be a huge improvement over the first. Even though it seems they made a ton of improvements with the first on the expansions I wouldn't know. I hard quit after I found out how little quests there were after the main game, and no matchmaking for Raids.

 

can you preinstall today for the open beta?

 

Not sure but it wouldn't hurt to check.

 

I'm pretty sure no it just puts it to que up when it goes on sale
