I really love the way this record starts with Follows and Favorite. I'm seeing them Tuesday and I think that would be an awesome opening pair.

My only complaint is I wish the leads on this were more pronounced.

Escape Plan is just the bees fucking knees.

 

haven't done many play throughs (i think one) but Guardians is a favorite so far. Good choice for a single.

 

I feel like this album is a fucking insanely well done blend of their earlier stuff with newer stuff, if that makes sense. Tigers Jaw has a very unique "oh that's them" sound and Charmer was the most different. this brought it all together.

 

June could be my favorite song of the year a lot of the time. Escape Plan is too good too. Guardian.
This record will only get better as summer progresses

 

@Zac Djamoos 10/10 review, yr bravery in coming out of the gate with a pun is commendable. Also agree on "Hum" being one of the best in Charmer, maybe one of their best period. That's the only thing I wish there was more of here

 

escape plan gives me teen rocket and divide vibes

 

Divide might be one of the weaker songs they have in that style, because for some reason I feel like it goes a bit longer than it has to

 

Divide is probably right outside my top 5 off Charmer. i really like all of their slow burners. I Saw The Wolf is an underrated one

 

I saw the wolf is one of their best songs, simple but super solid. Divide might be my least favorite on charmer. Maybe I envy your apathy. Not a slight, considering how strong an album it is

A stripped down version of this album would definitely be cool. i'm going to try to see them do this free acoustic show before their full set tomorrow. I'm really excited to hear some of these songs.

I think this is immediately the most positive first impression I've gotten from an album of theirs. I like, don't love, s/t and Two Worlds, and listened to Charmer once when it came out. This album rules

 

I like this album a lot. It's very same-y and they're not really taking any risks after Charmer, but the songs are very solid and I'd put Escape Plan, Follows, and Guardian near the top of their discography. Good, easy listen. Ben's vocals have never been better than here.

Still, having followed the band since Two Worlds, I'm hoping they switch things up for the next one. Still feels like they're retreading the sound that they've already perfected, and with the new lineup solidified at this point, I'd really like to see them get creative for the follow up.
