Yeah, the fact that it happened to be on 4/18... and at the same time as a Brand New Instagram post... idk.

 

And eastern time where the band would be, it's already like close to 11pm. And nothing more has been said. So maybe the "418" thing was just promo for the band revealing their ability to levitate over Instagram?

 

According to Zack he was just updating the labels IG account, and nothing more. But I don't know. The "shaking off the rust" is still interesting and doesn't have me giving up completely. I think it will be sooner rather than later that the real hype gets rolling

In hindsight their label and a member of the band being related to Shone is the biggest mistake Brand New ever made. It made fans literally crazy.

... This actually isn't a new rule at all. It was my rule until I folded from the peer pressure like 3 hours ago. I'm staying strong this time.

I get what you mean, I really do. I know they aren't the mysterious guys we think they are, or that the fan base makes them out to be and that the Shone thing totally helped play into that for fans. If Shone didn't exist the whole "Brand New is cryptic" wouldn't exist. It certainly didn't exist before, before that they were more known for just being quiet.

But is it really so crazy to wonder why 418 has now shown up in two different things related to the band? I feel like that was reasonable for people to be curious about, and what ultimately led to the mass freak out (which I think on this site was mostly a joke, I know my hype train posts weren't serious. Most people on here were staying reasonable)

 

is it just me or does it seem a bit odd that adding 152 to 418 gives you 570 which just happens to be the area code for Pennsylvania? does anyone think brand new and taking back Sunday have formed a supergroup and are recording an album in Pennsylvania right now or is it just me? all the facts seem to be there tbh #plant #heatthing

^^And yeah true about the crazy fans (myself included), but in everyone's defence the number thing being the Date today, and in the cassettes and then posting the first band photo in months with a caption like that.... They gotta know people are going to be grasping at straws after 7 years of not much news

Not sure if anyone has noticed, but Brand New actually means more than a band name. In popular culture it means "something that previously didn't exist until now." Which really makes you wonder, if something brand new is coming our way!

 

Same with Know Gods Just Work. Seems to
Be a label thing and not a Brand New thing at all.

 

But the band is pretty aware everything is... Ahem... Already heard... (Get it?)
