I hope he goes undrafted and gets signed in the CNFL to the Hong Kong Combat Orcas

A Yankoff Combat Orcas jersey would be a dream come true

They could use Yankoff. They didn't even make the playoffs last year. They need someone to yank that team around.

The joke was about getting two starting QBs (Kessler, Kizer) from the Wentz trade more than anything. haha

I don't care about Mingo because the top of that draft is absolute garbage and the guys I wanted more, at the time, were Dion Jordan and Dee Milliner. haha

Gilbert definitely disappointed though. I really thought he was a solid value and pick when trading down. (Watkins not needed due to Gordon, Mack not needed due to hope in Mingo/Sheard at that point) Double loss with Manziel, who I trusted, but wanted Derek Carr. Still not as disappointed because we have some good building blocks of Bitonio, Kirksey, and Crowell in that draft class.

Overall, I do think the Eagles did well with the Wentz trade. They were much better set up for a new QB than the Browns were. The Browns just took it all and capitalized on it to make its worth unbelievably great.

I honestly don't at this point hate the Bortles pick (other than we could've had Carr, but a lot of the NFL made that mistake). We took a "project" QB with raw athletic talent / escape ability, we missed and couldn't coach his flaws out of him, oh well. It's not like we have a history of busting on QBs. Gabbert was atrocious.... but outside of those two, everyone else was at least a borderline franchise QB (Steve Beuerlein, Mark Brunell, Byron Leftwich, David Garrard - all four took us to the playoffs at least once).

It's just the odds that you'll miss on 2/6. Fingers fucking crossed we hit on the next guy though. It has been too long since our two bad ones were directly in a row.

I don't hate it. It was a good idea at the time but it wasn't the best idea. The pick should have been Mack then and it should have been Mack now. But I know that Carr wasn't their second option and he may not have been their third either. So if it was Mack then it probably would've been either trading up for Manziel/Bridgewater or Jimmy G and I'm not sure how feel about him still. Presuming he doesn't work out, I think we'd be looking at Mack, Scherff, and either Ramsey/Watson or Wentz/Fournette.

I don't know why I just typed all that cause holy fuck is that just SO MUCH BETTER.

For real though, Carr was a rare talent put in an average body. Kind of proves how little some teams actually research. *cough* Dak *cough*

Don't really see the benefits of this other than making it more of a media circus on cutdown day, which could be the reason they voted for this, the NFL craves attention

Only other reason I can think is if someone who would've been a competitor for the 53 man roster got injured past the 75-man cutdown and as a result you'd want someone who would've been cut from the 90 to 75 cut to be able to keep competing.

NFL owners approve reducing OT to 10 minutes

But that doesnt really solve the issue. A game that ends 17-17 in regulation and 24-24 in OT just wasted 10-15 minutes of playing time. Not when it could have ended 24-17 3 minutes into overtime

I much prefer the wager system for starting overtime, but, what they had originally is probably the best system that teams would actually accept.

-Each team starts at (designated spot on the field) away team gets first possession? No kickoffs
-First drive by each team has no game clock, keep play clock
-If first team scores FG or TD, second team gets a chance to match, if second team fails, game over
-If first team does not score FG or TD, second team can win with FG or TD
-If first team turns it over, second team can win on FG or TD
-If game is still tied after first drive by both teams, coin flip determines who gets ball and game goes to sudden death with x amount of time on game clock

just do college rules at this point but the first team with the ball can't kick an extra point if you score a TD

    solved.
