This is what my dream album with cali era songs looks like..12 songs in that progression:

    1. Cynical
    2. Bored to Death
    3. Hey I'm Sorry
    4. Los Angeles
    5. Misery
    6. Last Train Home
    7. 6/8
    8. Home Is Such A Lonely Place
    9. San Diego
    10. Sober
    11. Left Alone
    12. Bottom Of The Ocean

Putting the cali era in this perspective, I gotta say they recorded some kickass and positively memorable songs!
I like the skeebz-era so far and am excited for what's to come.

Also I like to think that left Alone and Ocean belong together..."sink like stones" and then in the end it is at the bottom of the ocean.

I think a deluxe edition should be a totally new album with a couple of additional songs.

I'd swap in rabbit hole and don't mean anything for San Diego and lonely place but otherwise my list matches up completely. Makes for a great, cohesive, slightly darker album.

"Don't Mean Anything" is just decent/good-ish, but I can't get enough of the bridge.

I always think Third Eye Blind is on and it's Stephan Jenkins who's singing "When we all fall to the surface sometimes / And we all fall back where we belong". Of course that comparison is a compliment.

I think Matt purposely backs up from the mic to not overpower Mark during that part. Haha

They did some other live acoustic of that where Matt backed off the mic for the "ohs." I like it in the background. Same way I like how Matt's screaming parts in 6/8 are really in the background.

The deluxe debuted at 8 on the iTunes charts. Would have been a bit higher but there's three Chris Cornell related albums above them.

After blink broke up I got super into Death Cab for Cutie and they are the greatest. Maybe were the greatest. But still.

I'm with you so I wonder if that's a way to go. Give "Plans" a spin -- and fuck it, give "Give Up" by the postal service a spin, too.

Everyone and their brother has heard it, but AFI's Sing the Sorrow has always been my parallel to the Untitled record. Released the same year and had the same producer. It was a weirder, more creative version of what the band already did but was still enjoyed by the existing fans. Neither band has been able to replicate it or make anything better either!

So I avoided all forums once they started dropping songs every three weeks. Didn't want any preconceived notions after reading people's reviews.

Finally listened to the whole thing Friday and I'm obsessed. Some better than others, but I love the boundaries pushed.

Favorites in order are Last Train Home, 6/8, Good Old Days. All so catchy.

By the way, I dunno if any serious collectors are on here, but I'm selling my 1 of 25 MTS Enema of the State red black swirl misprint if anyone is interested.

Highlits from OG Cali : Cynical,BTD,She's out of her mind,Left Alone + bridge in No Future. Highlits from DLX : Good Old Days,Don't Mean Anything,Last Train Home,Long Lost Feeling,Misery,Wildfire. Easily DLX>OG California to me.Just love these new songs even more than those I loved on original version already.Feels more natural and Blinky to me.especialy that typical keys and backvocals. And Long Lost Feeling is definitely on top with my favorite Blink songs ever and it's the only song from this era I can imagine being on S/T.

I think I like the deluxe songs a little bit more too. "Last Train Home", "6/8" and "Long Lost Feeling" all kind of remind me of the S/T in places, which surprised me. Overall, I love California. It's a great return to form for blink.
