God damn this is fucking amazing so far.

 

I almost don't believe it. It's all too good to be true. Like, it feels too much like the Destiny 1 hype cycle all over again.

Although one negative thing: come on, only one raid at launch? Honestly I was expecting there to only be one but, like, seriously there should have been two.

 

I didn't tear up during that social segment! You did!

 

Honestly the only things I am sad about are that PC isn't cross platform so the few friends I have that will be joining the community won't be able to play with me. The second being the fact that I SWORE when amanda holliday picked up the guardian they were gonna drop space battles on our asses.

 

Everything looks great so far. One raid is a big bummer and I'd like to see how many new strikes/multiplayer maps there are and if they're reusing any old content but I'm very excited.

 

As far as re-using old content, it doesn't look like they will be because it looks like literally none of the environments are returning from D1. It's four entirely new zones to explore, so none of the areas with the old raids/strikes are accessible. But it is Bungie, so who knows.

 

I'm kind of concerned that all multiplayer modes will be exclusively 4v4. If anything I expected them to add a mode where it went up to 12v12 or something big like that. Hopefully 4v4 control doesn't get interminably boring.

 

Yeah, it doesn't look like they will right now but I'm still kind of expecting them to to maybe pad out the numbers for strikes, in particular.

Also, yeah, 4v4 is bad news for me at least. I always found the Crucible the most fun when it was chaotic, I want MORE players not less.

 

I'm okay with 1 raid at the beginning. With two expansions already in the pipeline, we most likely won't go without a new raid for 3-4 months max

 

Yeah assuming we get a raid with each expansion, it'll be fine. I'm also really hoping they add a patrol space on Mercury in the Osiris DLC. With the Warmind DLC, who knows where it could go.

 

First thing is said when I saw only 4v4 was: "why?".

I mean if I wanted to hang back and chill a little in a match in D1 and could since there were 5 other guardians. Now I mean that limits that so much. In theory I don't like it. We'll see how it does in practice.

 

Snipers moving to the heavy slot makes me a little sad :( with the smaller fireteams it makes sense though to push more close-range weapons on people to encourage fast action combat

 

The raid matchmaking makes me really happy, I'll finally be able to do a destiny raid haha

I need to play a little bit more of Destiny. I haven't picked it back up in a while. I still have some missions left in the Taken King expansion

 

I didn't get to do too many raids due to no matchmaking in Destiny 1 and I'm happy there is matchmaking now but I really hope that means they don't dumb down raids.

 

Yeah, I hope they don't. So we're definitely starting a Chorus clan right?

 

Idk, having one raid at launch after already being delayed a year is pretty sad if you ask me. It really doesn't look like a sequel imo. I only played causally here and there but my buddy and his roommate are HUGE into Destiny, like two separate consoles and huge TVs in the same room and a premium internet to handle both of them playing, and they're pretty bummed.

 

I'm down for a Chorus clan, for real.

 

Music mends broken matchmaking

 

Only 1 raid in cool with. To me, it sounds like a ton of competent with the patrols opening up more. I'm sure some people will "blow through" all the content quicker than others including the raid, but I feel the majority of players will be content.

Heck I feel there will be a ton of content no matter who you are.

gotta say im pretty hyped. Destiny fell off hard for me during the last xpac but ive got high hopes for this one. honestly im surprised blizzard is going to integrate it into their launcher. theyre usually really particular about that stuff. itll be cool to have OW, HoTS, HS, WoW, D3, SC2, and D2 all in one spot.

 

The "this doesn't even look like a sequel" stuff has already got old. I know not to read IGN comments but I do anyway....

What do people want? They don't even know. People would freak if it was a Mario 1 into Mario 2 type situation.

 

Chorus clan will for sure be made then! I'm more excited for this game knowing I'll have friends to play it with.

 

Yeah those comments made me mad too. I don't know what they expect..some completely new game? This is what a sequel is, the same core game with some upgrades and tweaks. I think that new crucible mode looks fun (not a new concept in the fps genre by any means but could be fun in destiny). I found myself thinking while watching that clip (and another I saw on Gamespot) is that the audio (gunplay, grenade explosions, jumping, etc) sounded a lot better, but maybe that's just me.
