The Florida articles I was reading said there were disputes about whether the victim was even knocked on conscious. I guess there were some videos where she was walking away. And then the way prosecutors presented some of the evidence wasn't exactly in order. The more I read the more I understood why we drafted him.

I think with or without this incident, there are reasons to be concerned about Brantley. I guess we'll find out soon enough what kind of person he actually is playing in our city.

 

Yeah the Kaaya hype was crazy. And Barkley hype obviously.

Side note I downloaded one of those "fan made" Madden rosters with this draft class and I wanna try out Mahomes so badly

Like Mahomes might be great and he might completely suck, but he's gonna be so fun to play with in Madden before he gets any actual playing time

 

All of these are insane. They weren't good haha. And that's also where I take issue with being grouped with "them". Because they say things like this haha.

 

Don't they usually put in disclaimers though that they have no idea? I think the readership wants those early mocks right after a draft more than the writers want to do them.

 

It's just quantity > quality honestly.

I was so glad when people caught up on Cook. He actually was from a city about 5-10 minutes from me and he'd just been such an ass the whole time.

 

I will say I'm not criticizing the Jags and saying they should've gone QB when I make the "People say this every year" argument because they've at least swung on a QB in the past 5 years.

It's moreso when like, let's say, Texans fans in 2015 were seeing us get mocked Wentz at 25 before his stock rose, and kept saying "Why would we draft him when we can get Kaaya next year?" (not from me/Brian obviously but from fans in person/on different sites) At some point, when you haven't swung on a QB and haven't seen anything from your own, you have to swing.

 

Yeah, Connor Cook hahaha. I don't even remember him being that hyped at Walsh Jesuit. I mean, I'm sure he was really good. At least Trubisky I distinctly remember making a lot of headlines and noise. It was weird when he picked UNC. Heck, even Rick Stanzi had some good Cleveland hype in high school.

 

Texans were by far the most justified. They needed a QB. KC was stupid and should've waited. Chicago is in between.

 

Hell I wanted to draft one after we signed Brock haha. Maybe not in the first round, but I definitely thought we needed to get a rookie the year we signed him.

Next year is gonna be crazy as shit. Pitt, Zona, LAC, Buffalo, Jax, NYG, NYJ, SF/WAS, and Minny could all be in the hunt in the first two rounds. Chicago may end up being geniuses. They've got Trubisky and set themselves up for colossal failure this year.

 

It kinda goes back to what my long post was going to be about if I had any damn time haha: the different methods of successfully drafting a franchise QB and making it worth it

This is awesome news. Even if they keep him out the full 16 weeks, he will be available for most of the season. This and the McCourty signing make me feel much better about the secondary.
