I waited an hour for this, it was worth it.

 

SO, looks like we arent getting the event tomorrow after all. They'll announce it beforehand like they always do, according to their twitter.

So I'm going to assume that A) the event is next week since we know its set to end June 5th and B) the items in the anniversary lootboxes will probably be permanent items that are added to the lootbox rotation after the event is over

 

They didn't do it for the Summer Games or the Halloween event. However, they have for each event afterwards so guess we'll have to see.

 

yeah im just going off what the official twitter says. for all we know they could release the announcement tomorrow morning and then have the event and stuff up later in the day.

right now the only facts we have are: we are indeed getting an anniversary event with at least 100 new items, we're getting Doomfist really soon either this event or right after, and we know when it ends. so yeah, guess its just a matter of is it tomorrow or next tuesday

 

Doomfist will be an E3 reveal I want to bet. Terry Crews is going to be there for something this year so I say that's when we find out.

 

im fine with that. the person that leaked his abilities also leaked the previous 3 heroes abilities as well as various other things and they were all accurate so im just going off that leak, but given what he says im not really super hyped on him or anything other than the fact that Terry Crews is voicing him. just seems like a more aggressive but less useful Rein although its not really fair to judge based of how abilities sound versus how they actually play so who knows.

some people want OW to be like a MOBA and just crank out heroes every few weeks but im fine only getting a few every year. i just want them to add new gameplay mechanics and ideas to keep the minute to minute gameplay fresh and keep the compositions unique

as far as the other stuff, it was a 4chan post that was written by someone who claims to be a dev or tester or something like that. its the same person who gave us info on a lot of past stuff like the year of the rooster event and details on sombra and orisa. id still take it with a pinch of salt but the person lays out basically the next 3 heroes Blizz plans to release with Doomfist being next

Him as offense makes a lot of sense. I dig it. I can see him serving as an off tank in some situations, more versatile like Soldier. I also really want them to introduce a new healer that's "evil", something like leeching health from enemies and transfer health to your team. That would be my dream hero on this game really.

 

YES YES YES YES i really reeeeeeally want a vampire/witch doctor style healer, doing damage or a dot and translating that to heals or buffs to an ally. there was a hero concept somewhere on artstation that used this concept and i can never find it but it was really cool

 

word on the street is somethings going down at 3 EST but I'm not holding my breath.

I've been playing Ana a lot more and holy shit shes fun and she can keep her entire team up single handed.

 

Ana's a lot of fun, though I haven't played her much recently.

Did see a video just the other day of a Widowmaker POTG where they got a triple kill that ends with killing the enemy Ana who had wandered up to just say hello to the Widow but accidentally got in the way of a shot. Video just ends with the widow unscoping and staring at Ana's collapsed body.

 

this week if you play five pvp games of HOTS with a friend, you get 10 loot boxes for both HOTS and OW.

Shit. I really need to just play this already so i can get my overwatch stuff, lol.

 

So at the con I was at waiting for to meet Johnny Cruz, I spent an hour talking to a 12-13 year old kid about the game. He just recently got into it so I gave him plenty of advice and tips and we talked strategy among team comps and metas. Things like that is why I love this game so much, it really does bring people together and to enjoy each other's company all based around a game.

 

its been such a treat watching Overwatch FUCKING EXPLODE the way it has. hell my mom knows who some of these characters are lol. my cousin whos about 16 also plays and we do the same thing and talk meta and fun stories and how we're doing in comp etc.

btw i went from 2031 or something like that to 1951 :/ was really hoping to hit plat this season

 

Got two legendaries from the loot boxes - 500 credits and Young Master Hanzo. That got me enough to buy the Cyberspace skin for Sombra.

Also got white hat McCree and a highlight intro for Orisa.


I'm much much better at Sombra now than I was a few months ago, but my winrate with her is abysmal. I checked and overbuff has her at 43%. That's pretty terrible honestly. She's really reliant on the rest of the team.

Sombras ult is a gamechanger and can clutch a point so easily. I never sigh when I see a Sombra on my team. The only thing with Sombra is she feels more like a....support hero than offense although with good aim she can put out some really good dps. I wish her smg did a bit more dmg to maybe put her in line with like Tracer or Soldier.

Blizz reeeeally needs to look at the defense heroes though. They could all use a little work I think. Bastion and Junkrat seem to be ok as far as dps goes and that recent change to junkrat where he cant dmg himself was a big boost but it still feels like they need a little something else I just dont know what. Mei is quite good and is probably the best of the bunch even though she can be hit or miss depending on the situation. Hanzo and Widowmaker feel underwhelming, even highly skilled players seem to think they could use a little something else. Plus it doesnt help that a lot of the maps we have just dont favor snipers too much. Torb is the big one though. That turret just doesnt cut it anymore. im not sure what they could do other than flat number buffs but maybe a little something else could go a long way. idk i guess the issue overall is that Defense as a whole is much harder than Offense just because of how the game works and how some of the maps are constructed.

this is all just from what ive noticed and what ive heard from friends and reddit and such so maybe im off. all in all the heroes are quite balanced for the most part but obv some shine brighter than others.

 

also Jeff is wonderful, Blizzard made the right choice in making Jeff the head of OW development. Hes funny and charming but he really seems to understand the game he makes and actually plays it which is quite rare. This video had funny moments but also a really good look at how Jeff and the team view the balance of heroes.

 

Sombras ult must be carefully timed, with your teammates around you, so they take advantage of it. Sombra's ult alone can really only work if your team can get a wipe or close to it. It sucks playing Sombra solo on console because 1. I don't want to join voice chat and 2. Even if I say my ult is ready my team is all over the place lol.

I checked my masteroverwatch profile and I noticed as my accuracy, elims and K/D ratio all went up, my win rate decreased.
