I wasn't a big fan of older Deftones stuff, but this new album is really, really good.

You've seen the butcher is my personal favorite deftones track

 

I honestly can't remember the last time I was this obsessed with an album. I'm listening to Gore multiple times a day.

 

Moana, Lovers (check YouTube), Rivière.

 

X2Lovers

 

Tempest, Royal, Entombed, Leathers, Do You Believe?, and Riverie. I think you should be able to get into most of these songs.

The First Week Numbers for Deftones' 'Gore' Are In

 

Really happy to see them chart so high, especially after seeing so many narrow-minded asshats on social media who thought it was imperative to inform them that the album disappointed them.

Found it kind of surprising that this is the highest seller since SNW, though.

 

Yeah other than people enjoying it, what do yall think gave them that extra hype on this?

 

Maybe people thought this was gonna be stuff from Eros since they've talked more about releasing that music the past couple years. I'm beats me.

 

I think they've just gradually been winning over those that used to think they were just another nu metal band. Years of putting out quality music have paid off in a loyal following.

 

I think they've gradually attained "respected veteran band" status from Diamond Eyes onwards.

 

Still surprises me how many people continue to lump them into that category. I know they've remained friends with Korn, LB, and a few others from that era, but I figured if anything definitively differentiated them from the pack, it was White Pony. Guess it didn't help that Maverick stupidly had them rerelease the record with "Back to School."

 

I watched that Ronald McDonald review or whatever the fuck his name is...

Finally spun this a few times today on my run and really enjoyed it.
