When you hit a mothafucka, you hit that mothafucka Prestigious

not even close haha. all the cool shit and cool people are in the coastal cities. you can enjoy that pessimism all you like, but as someone who left FL and came back the state does offer an urban coastal experience that you don't really get in other states, even ones that also border water.

You wanna say south florida's only for rich people? Try living by the water in Long Island or new england. Or out west.

You wanna say florida's beaches are all hicks? lol try all of the midatlantic beaches from South Carolina up through Delaware.

In all honesty, living by the beach is honestly either really lame and isolated, or wayyyy too expensive everywhere else.

My wife studied abroad in Australia. She said they had huge cockaroaches everywhere, and it was normal.

Also she said that people don't freak out over kangaroos over there. I'd be like seeing a deer here in PA (they're everywhere and no one cares).

Yes, because almost every city in Florida is a coastal city. Two major cities that aren't, Tallahassee and Orlando, are both half an hour from the coast. Outside of that you have Gainesville, which has the best music scene in the state, and Ocala, which is basically just Orlando for people who still want the crime and traffic of Orlando but without the culture and toll roads. You keep calling not being overly optimistic "pessimism". That's just not what it is haha. I think you're just associating good contextually with being good generally.

I don't get what the rest is supposed to mean. I don't care for the beach much and a lot of that has to do with the culture of the beaches in Florida BECAUSE the population is so close. The rest has to do with sand. I really fucking hate sand. /Anikangif You also don't live "by the beach". I know you're not about to tell me living by the beach is living by Rain Dogs and shit haha. I know you know exactly what places like Atlantic Beach and Ponte Vedre are like haha.

When I was in the Grand Canyon i slept out in the open. Was super nervous Id end up with scorpions on me or in my shoes. DO NOT take a blacklight tour with one of the rangers to see them, you realize they are tons of them all around

The Bills keep hiring respected people as coaches and in the front office and I'm finding it hard to not be optimistic that the team is finally headed in the correct direction

I live 20 minutes from the beach. That's "living by the beach" by most people's standards. I couldnt just go before work on a Tuesday when I lived in Maryland. It was a whole fucking weekend trip, and honestly? Those were way more crowded than Florida beaches cause everyone picks the same times to go! It's not warm March - October like here, and every weekend in the summer is like you can't even have your own spot on the sand. People are so used to the beach here that it's actually usually pretty open and empty, and I love that I don't have to sit in huge swaths of the kind of impatient, high maintenance people who love shopping on Black Friday, to go to the beach.

Yes it is good contextually - if you don't care about the beach then yeah Jax FL is just a regular ass place. But what I'm saying is this is a context that doesnt exist everywhere else. I like the beach. So I'm in Florida for accessibility to the beach that I can't have anywhere else. Credit where credit is due, at least accept that there are things about this place that many would find appealing even if you could care less. Most beach towns are not regular ass cities with punk music scenes and a football team and a diverse mix of people living there. I want the experience of a city overall, not of some hokey middle of nowhere beach tourist trap.

Atlantic Beach and Ponte Vedra are cool? AB has a lot of Jax's best bar scene and best restaurants even if the music/art culture isn't as strong. It's not my first choice in terms of where to live in Jax but it's definitely still an area I enjoy and spend time in with my girlfriend. And I've often thought to myself driving through Ponte Vedra on the way to St. Augustine that I can totally understand why people retire there, actually nice as fuck and not nearly as expensive as it looks. I actually really dig Florida's northeast coast dude haha there's a reason why I'm still here.
