This is amazing. Heaven is so good.

 

Her vocal performances on this record are next-level stuff.

 

That one spot where she belts on "Out on Love" is insane

 

This is good. Chris gives good recs but don't tell him I said that.

 

I just love her delivery on all of these songs, especially "Same to You."

This album is really growing on me. To my surprise, I didn't immediately love it. I'm very, very happy it is finally clicking. Dig Lydia Loveless!

Extremely good read from Hanif Willis-Abdurraqib.

 

Saw her last night for the first time in a while (which is like a year for someone in Ohio). Her and her band can be a little sloppy at times, which bugs me but it also kinda fits in with a kind of bar band aesthetic they have going on. She is such an undeniable talent, though, it doesn't really matter. So good.

Those songs were great live but holy FUCK those studio versions.

 

i somehow missed this when it came out but recently went back to her first album and realized i missed this and love it

 

I feel like a lot of people missed it. Hell of a next step, too.

 

Over time this has grown into one of my all-time favorite albums. Incredible set of songs and really perfected the productions. Still some homemade grit, but just enough shine on it to make it jump out of the speakers.
