just dropping in to say the first two Finger Eleven albums are actually really good

 

Hmm. With one of my exes, our music tastes were fairly but as the relationship went on she got way into mainstream r&b/hip-hop, which I'm or really a huge fan of. Then my most recent ex was a lot younger than me so our tastes varied but she was really open to hearing new stuff, so that was cool.

I'm sure it goes without saying, but music taste had nothing to do with why these relationships failed haha. It would be great to find someone who was into all the same stuff as me but I've realized that it really isn't that important.

 

My most recent gf listened to a lot of singer/songwriter and country. While I don't listen to much S/S I think there was enough stylistic overlap with our scene that we could exchange some music. She picked up on Lydia and early November and the occasional underoath song haha

 

I don't know if I've ever dated anyone who's music tastes were *vastly* different, but it's always cool when you start dating someone to get the chance to discover new bands from them, and share your favorites.

My boyfriend and I like a lot of the same music (especially pop music) but I listen to so much music all the time, and try to discover new music all the time, and he struggles to keep up. I get to recommend stuff to him though, that's always fun!

 

i've only dated maybe 2-3 women who've had similar tastes in music and it didn't add anything to the relationship or make it any better than if we had listened to different stuff.

 

I always had a few crossover artists me and exes agreed on but our core taste always was different. I should have known my ex was trash by the way he spoke about xtina. I figured out he was racist by the way he talked about Beyonce and saw the light soon after that. So music is helpful in that way I guess! I mean I should've realized he was racist earlier but naive and younger me was too brand new

 

I think similar levels of appreciation are more important than similar taste.
Though it would be cool to find someone who didn't think female punk singers are all trash.

I 100% agree. Which is unfortunate, but life goes on. Honestly, I won't be too upset but she just seemed like a cool person I'd like to get to know a little bit more.

Thanks so much! Yeah, it's like, I'm here every other day anyway so we might as well live together haha, but since she's in a 1 bedroom right now there won't be enough space for the kids if I did just move in here so we're finding somewhere new for after her lease

Well, my drunk ass texted her last night and was talking about how I've missed her physically and all this bullshit and I get a text from her in the morning saying she's seeing someone now so we can't be physical anymore, which is totally fine, I just can't believe this happened the one time I decide to proposition her for sex haha.
